I know there are going to be a lot of RA bashing threads after this ugly outing. Someone may label this as knee-jerking. I do not care. Rick Adelman deserves a major dump from everybody. And I really wish him fired to avoid another wasted season. 1. a loose game plan and the lack of in-game coaching. 2. not able to handle the TMac/Artest situation. 3. incompetence in coaching a decent defense. 4. not able to design, drill, and call set plays that are essential for Yao to be effective on both end of the game (Yao is a special player with huge strength and equally huge shortcomings). 5. not able to appreciate the importance of Hayes and Motombo, and thus not playing them. 6. looking for excuses (injury, injury…) rather than what can be improved from coaching. 7. wrong general scheme (read and react, committee scoring, pass to whoever for open shots) for existing players (they are better served with half court, hard defense and a lot of set plays). Comeon and list the things that Rick Adelman does and does not that really piss you off.
7 sins of tmac not dead hasnt died wont die is not dead yeat wouldnt die when he should chose to live instead of dying still isnt dead KILL TMAC
haha my thread gets locked up cuz of a hypothetical scenario involving a brawl. and you want tmac dead? oh, the irony.
doesn't play Mutombo even though he's one of the best rebounders and shot blockers to ever play in this league. His lame excuse Mutombo can't play against those up tempo team. Hey Coach, Mutombo has playing in this league longer than you have and has played all types of teams. Come up with a better reason for not playing him. Idiot
Ok let me try: 7 sins of Adelman 1) has a superstar that refuses to give 100% every game 2) has an extra sensitive superstar that could lose it with some criticism 3) has a superstar making 20 mil that won't play through injury 4) has a superstar that refuses to buy into his system even though he's been to the finals and western finals while that superstar hasn't done much 5) has a superstar who plays 'ole' defense 6) 1-5 are all the same superstar 7) has a team of guys blue collar guys looking askance at the double standard set for this superstar. Adelman would like to bench the guy/ ream him out but knows that chances are he would just lose the guy for good. In the end, Adelman's sin is that he can't get Tmac to play hard or consistent. Some people are going to say that JVG got Tmac to play hard all the time, not true, remember Tmac in 05-06, yeah he quit on that team. He also quit on Doc Rivers in 03-04, and Rivers isn't having problems now.
Awesome thread title, OP. 1. No Mutombo 2. Too much playing time for Shane 3. No defensive accountability 4. Imbalanced lineups (for example, tonight vs. Bucks: Landry, T-Mac, Artest, Wafer, Alston) 5. Too few minutes for Wafer 6. Too much faith in starters 7. Doesnt have Tom Thibodeaux watching his back.
This is not a McGrady thread.. Try to stay on topic for one second.
Adelman has no clue what he's doing
