I don't necessarily agree with cutting into Rafer's minutes for Mutombo's PT, but I definitely agree that Wafer is bringing much more to the table than Battier is right now. Battier has at least 1/2 step slower than years past, and it's showing because his man is consistently beating him to spots on the court where normally Battier would have already established position. The good thing about Yao's improved shot-blocking is that now guards are no longer fearless when taking it up to the basket. The reason why teams like the Grizzlies and the Knicks are beating us is because the guards of those teams are relentless in their penetration, and they are getting to the basket far too easily.

It's obvious that English isn't his first language, and he's probably typing in his native language (Chinese perhaps?), and entering it into Babelfish or some other online translator. Those translators suck because they take the literal meaning of what you're saying, and never really account for slang or tone.

He was not unable to grasp the basket version, but can not determine the direction of basketball placement[/QUOTE]

i don't have a good feeling that yao's block skill has been changed since deke back to rox.

i would like to wait for a month or two to make a call.

a flat foot and slow reaction yao is not going to block alot shots. if he stays under the basket and other centers try to score through low post moves, yao might get more blocks. if you ask him to jump in and block shots from the weak side, it would be a day dream. if yao outside of his comfort zone (paint area) his defense is pretty much none.

Thank you Mutombo, you actually make Yao play like a man on defense, he use to but before you came this year he started playing like....Not such good things on defense

I hope you play again next season too.

It also help yao practicing against Deke vs hayes. I've noticed he's not getting his shot blocked as much. Practicing against a 7'2 guy vs 6'4 is huge.

I think practicing against Deke has made a big difference in Yao's game as well. Hayes is a midget for his position.

    well shaq takes charge too.

it's actually a way to intimidate other players,

tony parker ran into shaq once, it's like running into a brick wall, he will think twice penetrating the paint again

Lol don't worry Yao Ming will never be able to jump high enough to land funny. I think his elevation is only 3 inches or something lol. Taking charges is more dangerous IMHO opinion, there's collision against someone running at full steam, and then you both fall to the floor. Besides, how is Yao Ming going to get respect from the refs when he's 7 freakin' 6 and he's taking charges from 6-1 pgs? No respect means no calls, and he's going to get mugged more and more down low, which increases the wear and tear on his body. Let's leave the charges to our elite role players like Battier and Scola.

Thank you so much Mutombo for showing Yao Ming the light :D
