I've been doing some preliminary searches on the best and cheapest ways to book a vacation package and wanted to ask around and see if anyone has done something like this recently and could share.

Basically I'm wanting to book something close to an all-inclusive trip which covers airfare, hotel, meals, etc.. to a Carribbean/Mexico type destination for about a week's time period. I was recommended to use Vacatinostogo.com which seems fairly reasonable and coupling this with tripadvisor.com I'm looking up the hotels and resorts in the area.

Is it better to pile everything into one package like this or is it cheaper to book flights separate from hotels? If a package is in fact the way to go, any recommendations on good booking sites or agents would be appreciated. Thanks :)

Thanks for the link. I'll see what kinds of resorts they've got...

The site you were recommended (VacationsToGo.com) is terrible. They might as well be a liquidator. They jack the price up and then act as though they're giving you a 50% discount when they're STILL charging more than the standard rate.

I just compared their prices to the honeymoon cruise I just booked.

    They say: Regular $1400 - Now $749!
I booked it straight from the cruiseline at $649 last week.

So yeah, their business ethics pretty much suck.
