Here is a fun story: last time when Rox played with Jazz, Yao missed many shots in the 4th quarter, many fans on the spectrum shouting "F..k Yao", which is loudly enough to be heard even through TV broadcasting. But the CCTV commentator said they are scolding the referee...囧 What I'm more concerned about is why the audiance shown in Tokyo Center are always late-coming and early-leaving... I'd rather be the first one in the Center if I have chance. =(
I don't know how you can be a Rockets fan and say #3 is false. I mean, there are only 100 threads b!tching about how Yao has to play for the national team just about every offseason. And #4 talks about how well he's played, not how valuable a trade commodity is.
Slow down, chief. One offensive explosion and suddenly, he's Duncan with a mid-range jump shot? The Jermaine O'Neal comparison is actually pretty spot on, except that Jefferson has a moderately better post game. Jermaine, in his prime, was an offensive machine, and unlike Jefferson, he was fearsome shot blocker. Duncan, however, was dominant at BOTH ends of the floor, and does all the little things to help his team win. Jefferson's a stud, but the Duncan is a far reach.
When Yao joined the Rockets under Coach Rudy, he was very sharp (can hit from mid range to three point line), much more agile with faster response. I admitted I was impressed more with the Yao then. After coach Van Gundy took over, Yao bulked up, changed style of play and became significantly less agile. Not only that, he has lost his mid range shots. IMO, Yao was more like Hakeem's style of play back then with Rudy but with Van Gundy, he is playing more like Shaq style. So do you like Hakeem or Shaq style of play? I like Hakeem style better.
here is what I said after the game It's not only to Yao. It's about the Rockets! It's better to have a bit more patience to the Rockets when all the warriors were fighting on the court.
Yao is Yao Ming, he is neither O'Neal (he has in the long-range shooting) is not Olajuwon (he has inside fighting), of course, he did not Olajuwon's flexible and O'Neill's high-handed Everything just continues to work hard to make him better and better The United States now has fans do not like Yao Ming, China also has, American fans do not like because he had the ball soft wind, and the Chinese fans do not like him because he is too rich too famous. I, as a Chinese, I own part of the mentality of the fans feel ashamed. But I like Yao because he is great.
