his defense is pretty bad though, not exactly the defensive anchor he could be.

SEVERELY underrated. Honestly, I don't think any other big man in the league has better a combination of footwork and decision-making. I don't think that's a stretch.

For people that know about him, Jefferson is not underrated. For very casual fans who barely know he exists, he is very underrated. Too bad for him he plays in Minnesota.

Getting his shot blocked a lot is no big deal. 3-time MVP Moses Malone had that happen a few times.

Good player, but seriously needs to get to the line, he is a high volume shot taker and playing 37 minutes a game and only going there 5 times seems a little less to me.

he is very fundamentally sound and is a better post player than KG could ever dream of becoming with his psuedo-dream shakes.

Severely underrated. Considering his smooth post moves and big man IQ, I think he is the best center in the league.

If one is to use the "in individual matchups, he's dominated" argument, as clutchfans typically do with respect to Yao and Howard, then Al Jefferson has a case.

Personally, I never cared much for that argument.

I didn't watch the game, so I can't say for sure whether or not he dominated Yao. But he did give up 30 points and his team lost big, so it doesn't seem like he dominated Yao.

Word. Jefferson would probably be an all star if his team had a half decent record, and if memory serves me right, didn't Jefferson dominate Yao the last time they played?

Yes, your memory serves you right. Next time the Rockets play the T-Wolves, Adelman needs to come up with a scheme to hold Jefferson to "just" 25/15 or something like that. NBA game-planning isn't like the NFL but this is ridiculous coach Adelman.

He's an all-star easily. Future for the Wolves. His defense needs work though. He's a beast at everything else though.

Why would they do that? I think he's an up and coming big but he's also a black hole. The strategy has worked so far. It's easier to beat one man versus a team. Let him shoot 30 shots and guard everyone else.

It's worked because the Rockets are so much more talented than them. He's the only decent offensive option on that team and letting him take 30 shots a game and hit half of them is a good way to give the T-Wolves some chance to win. The Rockets should do something to decrease his efficiency or reduce his attempts. If he was only shooting 40% or close to it I'd agree with you.

Al is pretty good and should be an all-star, but like I said on the GARM, he is getting ultra-overrated on this board overnight. He had maybe his best game of the season and you just happened to see it. Remember Al plays for a bad team where he's the primary option. People's stats get inflated on a bad team.

He's had three straight 30/10 games against us. It's no fluke.

he more underrated than Joe Johnson thats for sure

Joe Johnson has some bad shooting numbers for such a great shooter

42% FG, 34% three, if you start calling people underrated they feel more pressure :D

    I don't think he's underrated.

You can count on him being knocked out of the first round for the next several years. The Timberwolves are a consistent first round exit, but they only switched out the KG for a younger PF.
