If its a controlled tip to a teammate, I believe you get credit for the rebound. What Ben Wallace did in that play qualifies.
No but seriously I think that considerin age to be a factor Lebron is light years away from where Kobe was at this age so just the fact that he is this good, now is something to look at.
um...the Knicks are 3 wins away from surpassing their record last year already. another 13 wins and they'll have more than Isiah ever coached them to. i'll agree that D'antoni might not win a championship anytime soon...but he is really the perfect coach for that team. Not only is his team overperforming based on talent, he is doing it in an entertaining way, at least. Frustrating, but entertaining. I'm not a closet Knicks fan or anything, but I suspect they will only get better and start to make the playoffs regularly under D'Antoni. As for the rebound, that is really hard to tell. As for Kobe vs. Lebron...it's almost like splitting hairs. Kobe is definitely older, but I think you'd have to not be watching to say he's past his prime or already on the decline. That's ridiculous. I'd still take Lebron, though. Younger, scores more, more rebounds, more assists, shoots a higher FG%, and has an inferior supporting cast.
I don't see any signs of decline in Kobe...he can still score 50 if he wants to and is still as good a clutch player as anyone in the league. That said, Lebron is better than Kobe.
You guys suck! Both are in the higher league. You can't stop Lebron from going to the basket and you can't stop Kobe's jumper. 50+ points is just extraordinary. Getting tripple double might be considered more of a teamwise stat, but it's still great. You just can't say who you'd rather have ball in his hands in last seconds, because both will most likely bring you a win. Going at each other.. you just can't tell who will turn out to be more of a freak on a given night. Anyway, both have great supporting cast nowadays and anyone who plays basketball knows that the more of a talent you have on the court, the better you play..
Yeah but when the Rockets get another crack at them you can be sure......that it will have the exact same outcome. The Rockets are consistent in losing to horrible teams.
When Battier tips the ball to his teammates on those offensive rebounds, he gets credit for the board. I'm fairly certain of that. And I'm pretty sure the same applies on the defensive end. I did a quick search. Jonathan Feigen wrote this a while back in a blog response: http://blogs.chron.com/nba/2009/01/china_is_right_yao_is_perfect.html [rquoter] hey, have you noticed how Yao seems to tip the ball towards his teammates a lot instead of grabbing the rebound? could that be why his rebounding stat is lower than howards? (No. If it is a controlled tip, that counts as his rebound. -- Jonathan) [/rquoter]
