Couldn't agree more. His decision making especially late with rotations has been terrible and has probably contributed to a few of those collapse losses.
If there were no injuries and we sucked this bad, there might have been a chance. But no, not anymore.
On the poll, another option should be if first round exit, don't fire Adelman, trade T-Mac instead for players who can fit in well with that motion offense of Coach Rick Adelman's. IMO, I really can't see any more upside for T-Mac much longer as far as his career is concerned much like Rafer's. As long as T-Mac continues to be a ball stopper in that offense, then Rick Adelman won't have any real good success here as the team's head coach. One thing to keep in mind is that I like Rick Adelman's desires to get away from playing a predictable offense to the kind that is unpredictable and more difficult to defend.
Adelman is a lot smarter than a lot of people realize...He might seem clueless to the outside viewer, but trust me he knows what he is doing...you don't just luck into a 60% winning percentage w/ as many games as he has coached. IMO his rotations at the end of the game are very different from JVGs and they really do seem stupid, but I believe it inspires confidence and a learning lesson for all of his players...so when the time comes (playoffs) we hopefully won't have players crack down b/c of the pressure.
^ I forgot to add... Sure we might lose some games b/c of those rotations, but Adelman is a big picture coach...and he looks into what benefits our team in the future...unlike a lot of narrow minded fans on this board
last i checked, adelman is the only guy on our team with playoff success. t-mac will leave before adelman does.
He should be fired for making dumb substitutions in the early stage of the season where he took Yao out and bench him while allow others to attack the basket and get back into the game.
Why??? This guy has barely gotten his feet wet in a sense. And already we're talkin about firin him? I mean honestly we need to be grateful for what we do have instead of what we don't or should. He has held up this team very well considering all the bumps in the road so far. Don't ya think?
Yuppers. I think a much better poll would be "Who's going to get canned first, the coach or the roster?" My bet is that the roster changes before the coach is changed.
Adelman deserves at least one shot in the playoffs with the complete roster. If the Rockets fall flat again in the playoffs, he'll be on the hot seat this offseason.
I agree. But if they are healthly, because VG had two healthly teams come playoffs time (not quite as talented). Rick shouldn't be fired now, but dang, we need to finally win something...
