I like how people here scream to ship out our best defender (other than chuck) when we lost due to the already non-exist D.
I doubt if any other good free agents will come to Houston. Swift, Bonzi, and now Artest all play like **** and lose their value.
Ron is not our best defender, he is our toughest player, but quicker players go by him like he is standing in cement...and he gambles by reaching around for the ball and opens up the lane far too often. DD
Talk about short bus, your obsessive and compulsive when it comes to the rockets. If you had it your way, knowing how much your on this board with topics, our team would be so torn up, out of whack, guys in and out of the TEAM for one game, I would want to burn you at the stake. The more and more I see you post on here DD the more I dislike your attitude. Your so damn biased... UGH i am speechless how much your just.... insanely obsessive. It's just weird!!! by the way what do you do for a living that gives you such obsessive freedom to post so much/"
I just hope artest can prove us wrong in the next game. I mean, yeah he is a good defender. But not outstanding. Plus you can see his stat tonight is 1-10 and its not acceptable judging from the expectation. Its not just about missing, Its about his shot selection. At those are bad selections I tell you. I know he can do better, but at the moment I have to say he is a liability that can cost us a game
Toughness is a virtue on this charmin team. His D is certainly the best on our current active roster. He can D better on one leg than the current Tmac and Shane, just saying. People stress on the O so much that they forget Houston's identity should be on D first, that is a halfcourt team period, not the Kings. If the 1-10 Ron is a problem, he surely is NOT the biggest problem.
Eh, I'm sure Morey is looking. I mean he knows what he's doing and if the right offer comes along then he'll take it but if not, Artest will have to do. And I swear, DaDakota is one of the worst posters here.
Context Fmullegun context, the first couple were after the trade, and I had said ALL along he doesn't fit and the only way to get him is if you get him for peanuts....and they did get him for that....so it was OK that they rolled the dice, it is too bad I was right and he didn't fit. The little gem was hope that Ron would elevate the team's effort....and that certainly DID NOT happen. Hey thanks !!!! How classy of you really, who are you again? That is exactly what I said...2 ball stoppers that are poor volume shooters are bad......thus...he does not fit. Not one of your quotes Fmull...was in the proper context....not one.... DD
LOL! Are you a coach in the locker room? the title was "The thing I like most about having Artest on the Rockets" and it was a thread started by you!
No, I get it.....I thought he would force the team to play hard.....and hold the team accountable....it was what I thought he would most bring to the table...... But that is not the same as saying he doesn't fit, now is it? Because I have been saying that ...since BEFORE we had him..... I guess I was hopeful of being wrong and that he would actually fit. But, alas, my first instinct was right, he does not fit with Tmac....or do you disagree and think he does fit?
I do get locked into subjects, no doubt, but it drives me nuts to see such obvious flaws and issues that can be solved......Artest for Maggette works. Artest for Hinrich works....those two are the best trades. Artest for Mike Miller works, Artest for Andre Miller works. Sure they are lesser players but all fit in on this team better than Ron.... I retired from selling my video game company 3 years ago.... Don't worry though I am starting a new one and will have less free time, maybe someday you will get lucky enough to take a few years off and spend time with your family too....I highly recommend it. Maybe you should put me on ignore if I bug you that much, and this thread is not about me, it is about trading Artest. Try talking about the topic at hand kiddos. DD
DD, I would say one more time that Ron is not the problem even he is not a fit for RA's offense. Ron is brought here to lead the bench, to defend the best out of the best and to knock apart the nut-shell defense when 111 simply can not get it done. You would not think the so-called motion offense alone would carry us to June right? So far this team still relies on inside out. The real problem is our D drops while our O does not improve due to the in-out lineups. This season's failure is more on Tmac/Shane/coach than Ron.
Certainly our D is a major issue, I would never argue that, the effort just sucks especially from our perimeter players. However, I still think Ron is a problem on this team, and I think with Battier, Tmac, Wafer and Barry we have enough at that spot. Unless you can get a Magette which adds a ton of attack the basket mentality, you should upgrade a position of need. Tonight, Mayo was KILLING Rafer.....we desperatly need a quality PG.....DESPERATLY. Hinrich shooting those open 3s versus Rafer...???? No contest.... So while you are getting back a little bit less in talent, you are getting a better overall fit for the team. IMO, of course. DD
