Way to cheat 18,000 people out of the game they paid to see.

The spurs' goal is quite different from most other teams. It does not matter for them to pass the first or the second round, they want the title only. They have to go through the Lakers anyway, it's either the first, the second, or the WCF.

but, they forgot the Rockets, they may not have the chance to see the Lakers ...

Why should he care? Its not his home court.

although i'm sure some fans came to watch the spurs play, i can agree with this.

i'm sure pop wouldn't do this if it were at home. usually the back to back road games where there's a night of travel is what makes it so tiring.

but either way, even if pop were to rest his stars at a home game, the spurs fans probably would understand, nor would pop care too much. the fans will forget when they are winning in the playoffs.

Pop just showed the league he does not care about having home court advantage in the first round.

yah it was dumb move and we were only down by i think by 6 points in the last quarter and duncan and parker were just the cheerleaders on the bench and billups was out with a injury if it wasn't for carmelo and all the offensive rebounds from nene it would of been the funniest win in spurs hstory

but were sill up 3 games and besides boston its a pretty much a easy roadtrip so i still think we can lock up the second seed and hopefully we can face the nuggets in the second round

    Because of the categorical imperative?

NBA franchises prosper together. The Spurs have an interest in the Hornets making more money.

Not any of Pops concern. He just wants to win.

Well, they're pretty much in the same position, lol. Hornets and Rockets lost, with only the Mavs winning.

baseball does this all the time on back to back games. it's a good strategy if you know what you're doing. Pops knows what he is doing.

Don't forget that the Nuggets weren't at full strength at tipoff either & they had another go down later in the game. It's not nearly as much of a psychic advantage for the Spurs, plus the Spurs lost ground to Denver in the seeding race.

    Dumb move timewise, Pop!!

Possible reasons: he thought they'd likely lose anyways playing an up and down Nuggets team on the second night of a back to back, he wanted to see some other player combinations on the floor, he didn't want to help the Nuggets scouts learn more about his team or give the any confidence, he doesn't give a flying flip about playoff seedings.
