I wonder if it will ever have a value as a museum item :).

I think DELL is good, my friend has that, but i am not a huge computer geek, so i might have arguments on this one. I have a compaq and its not as great as i thought it would be when i got it. I hope to get a new computer soon, but i dont think my parents will get me one anytime soon. :(

yeah, i suggest building your own, or having someone do it for you... it's much cheaper and you can customize everything to your liking...

do not buy compaq (yes i'm from houston but you have to admit that their proprietary motherboards and drives SUCK!)

i really am not a fan of dell either (we used them at work and i hated them all!)

if you really can't build your own or get it done... i suggest buying one at www.ubid.com
    i bought a 1.3gHZ machine w/ 40gb HD, 512MB ram, CDRW for $700 (including shipping) almost a year ago...

however, buyer beware... i bought a 21" monitor from them, but they delivered it with a crack in the bezzle... i complained over and over, and they would only sell me a new one at the "new" price (which was $300 more!) rather than replace the one I bought...

so if you want to take the chance, its up to you!
