something along the lines of "every morning i wake up blah blah i hate waking up and i hate this job, and you know i do it all for you, for you"
i actually don't mind jim/pam stuff but amongst a gold episode their storyline was completely worthless.
Seeing as this was the post-Super Bowl episode, it was necessary to appeal to all segments and introduce the important story arcs for anyone wanting to start watching.
i expected a lot more. after all the excitement of the superbowl, this episode was such a downer. Spoiler stanley has a heart attack dwight loses his safety position pam's parents split up jim gets blamed for it michael gets depressed about the jokes way too much "down" time after an event like the superbowl. i think the exact same episode might have been funnier on any other night. it certainly had its moments, though.
Downer? Seriously? I think you're taking these things way too seriously if Dwight losing his safety position counts as a downer for you.
I see what you mean- the Super Bowl was one of the more exciting ones, like last year, 1999, etc. The Office is one of those shows you can watch over and over again, though- sometimes it's funnier the 2nd or 3rd time because you catch everything, unlike some shows that were funny the 1st time but tend to lose it a little bit upon further viewing (like "Friends"). Within a couple of days, it will be up on the NBC Office site- you should watch it again, it's really funny stuff. Also, the Deleted Scenes on the DVDs for Seasons 1, 2, 3 and 4 are almost as funny as the shows.
