I was checking my account yesterday and discovered that some douche was on a nice little shopping spree in Phoenix clearing out my checking account. Luckily I was on as it was happening, but he damn near cleaned out my account. I called the bank and had the card cancelled. They've given me forms to have the money reimbursed. I called the police to report it. Lastly, I called the stores the guy went to and found out what he got and what name he used. Douchebag went to Hollister, Abercrombie and The Children's Place. Not only is he a thief, but he is lame as well! Argh. You hear about this type of thing all the time, but I never thought I'd experience it. On that note, I remember about a month ago, this company that handles credit accounts had about half a million card numbers hacked and stolen. The story seemed to go under the radar with all the election talk, but I wonder if its related. Has this happened to any of you? Also keep an eye on your accounts if this is tied to that companies compromise. Real quick, I want to apologize if I offended any douchebags. I need to break that habit of using a term that insults a large group of people out there. Its hard, but I'll do my best to knock it off.
don't stress it man. its a hassle but the bank will reimburse the money at least provisionally in a day or two, and after doing its investigation you'll be fine.
yeah, its not really bothering me because I figure I'll get it back. Its just funny because the timing isn't the best. Oh well. As long as thats all they have and they don't go around posting in this forum. If y'all see me posting Trade T-Mac for a second rounder or I wish this team were like the jazz, something's up. Ha!
some one got a hold of my wife's checking account number from two different banks and froged checks Once was Bank One who was pretty good about it But Bank of America were kind of jerks because they had to wait for all the transactions from going through before starting to fix it.
I'm over all fraud, theft, and forgery for a large credit union. Shoot me an email if you need some help. cmiller
If BoA didn't have a billion ATMs, I'd drop em. I had the samething happen to me. The customer service person hung up on me when I asked to speak to a supervisor. I wanted to know why I had to wait to dispute charges.
Most banks make you wait until the charges aren't pending any longer. it's a standard practice. Wells Fargo did the same to me when someone spent $1000 on a gambling website from my checking account. It took a couple of days and then I got the money back.
the problem I had was, what if the person kept going. this person was using checks, its easy to stop a card.
Yeah, good call. I was lucky in that it was a card. I have to wait til they go through though, which will be like Monday. CMILLER - Thanks. I'll give you a shout, if any questions come up.
