He's the one that picked the Rockets at the beginning of the season to win it all on ESPN's site. http://www.nba.com/media/rockets/RocketsPodcast1-30-09.mp3 Scoop Starts out talking about Scoop's love of the Sox - Still believes but he just hasn't seen anything because of the injuries... if you had called last week before the Knicks game then he would have been more confident. - Didn't know that Yao was out of the Knicks game. Cause he said we were "nearly healthy" Yao's first game back.. he's one off - Craig points out that we've lost to about 6 teams they should haven't lost too, but they do have wins against very good teams. Scoop - more heaven than hell - all we need is to get everyone together in April - come playoff time (really in march - for building continuity) - weather the storm - will depend on who they have to beat in the first round will make a difference - Have to will themselves to wins because every one matters Jason: Would you make a deal? Scoop - most complete team in the NBA, no wouldn't make a trade... likes Luis, but keeps calling him Louis. Rafer - has good handle on the team very important Aaron - is West coast version of Eddie House Wouldn't run Luther off the squad. Because he has playoff experience Craig: Chemistry issues? Scoop - Because they haven't played together - Doesn't think there is a specific person that needs to step up. Everyone still needs to learn their roles and they are still feeling it out. That's as far as I got through.. have to head out now.. i will recap the rest later if yall want Finishing the recap... Scoop says if we were to start the playoffs right now, everyone knows there roles.. at this point we wouldn't... if this was a rap record, this would be the posse cut - everyone coming in and saying their lines... live at the barbecue Haven't created the group yet because Rick hasn't had the whole group Tmac has to find a way to get back to being himself... thinks because his injury other teams are "afraid of him" no fear of him... that needs to happen. Put the league on warning that he's back... Jason - If Mac were an MC who would he be... Scoop Spoiler Treach from Naughty by Nature you gotta listen to the show to hear why... it was pretty interesting! Craig - 2010... will Lebron stay in Cleveland? Scoop doesn't make any sense for him to go anywhere - has the best chance to win rings in Cleveland - talks about a convo with Spike Lee about him - there's some good stuff there about Cavs vs Boston and Lebron vs Kobe and Wade as far as who's the best Jason - back to rockets If they get healthy and the run starts now... could the Rockets knock off the Lakers in a seven game series Scoop If they get past the first round, and meet the Lakers after that. Have to meet them after the first round... thinks that they can gain that confidence. If they were to face the Lakers in the finals, then he definitely takes them over the Lakers. It's all mental (which I think we all can agree with!) no more lingering thoughts then they can do it.
The national media's misconception/insistence (?) that Luther Head is somehow an important piece to this team is one of the most bizarre analysis trends of this season.
Luther Head alone will dictate how far this Rockets team goes into the playoffs, if at all. Y'all really need to start understanding who the Real Messiah of this team is.
People outside of the city...any city are always more optimistic. I was browsing a Celtic board a while back and their fans were pissed...sometimes even when they won they were not satisfied and when they went on that little losing streak...some of their fans were ready to ship out some of it's players. Yet you ask any one about the Celtics outside Mass. they'd tell you they are major contenders. The national media perception about this team is that if we stay healthy we are as good as the Spurs or Lakers. Our perception of this team.... -we can NEVER stay healthy -we fall apart in the last 6 mins of games - we have questions about our coach. I do hope though that Scoop is right, that some miracle will happen and we'll win the title...but it'd take a miracle of massive proportions for us to do that..
okay I finished the recap... just finished! obviously I said it poorly.. basically he said there's no reason to get rid of Luther for nothing, he at least has playoff experience... you all really should listen to the whole thing.. it's a good interview.
