Well he's a Laker so he wasn't suspended. What if it was Ron Artest that did the same thing?

If it looked accidental like it did with this incident, the league would let it go.

I bet OCballfan also sees no problem with the officiating in the WCF in 2002.

Because clearly, if the league lets it go, it must be okay.

Surely it's us, the Rockets fans, who are unfairly biased in a situation of Bobcats vs. Lakers.

It's couldn't be that instead, the Lakers fan is the one who's biased in a situation of Bobcats vs. Lakers. That just wouldn't make any sense. At all.

Apologies if I shattered anyone's sarcasm meter.

I had mentioned earlier that Ariza got a concussion after getting hit in the head from a Juwan Howard screen. Howard didn't get reprimanded so the league thinks its "clean" as well. He hasn't made the trip with the team yet.

The point is, the man suffered an injury to the head serious enough that he can't travel and the league let that go. Are we Laker fans complaining?

unless Howard threw an elbow up... like barnes did earlier this year, there is really no reason to bring that up.

He got hit in the head. Why would anyone wanna set up a screen that would potentially cause a freakin concussion. He got away with it, its part of the game, just like the hard foul by Bynum.

You still don't understand the differences between (1) setting a hard pick, (2) giving a hard foul, and (3) sticking an elbow on someone's rib cage when he is in mid air?

whast the difference? both are within the parameters of the game and both of them turned out to unfortunate incidents with playing suffering injuries.

IF you haven't seen harder fouls than Bynum committed than you haven't been watching the NBA buddy

Your persistence in this thread is impressive, if not quite commendable. There is a reason Bynum's foul was called a flagrant-2. He wasn't trying to complete a play, as a pick would be. The hardness of the foul wouldn't matter if he was attempting a legitimate play. If he had gone for a block and ended up collapsing Wallace's lung when they made contact, it'd be fine. But, he didn't go for the block; he went for the foul.

I'm defending him vehemently because the kid made a honest mistake. He is a quiet gentle person, he doesn't just throws his elbows around to injure people. I agreed with the flagrant 1 simply because he didn't make a play on the ball and it was an extremely hard foul but I don't think his intent was to hurt the guy so he deserve a fine or suspension.

Thanks for the stills Oski, especially the last one with the red circle around the feet positions. All the pictures I've seen concentrate on the bent elbow in the chest. I wish someone would post some frames just before the contact and of the actual contact. After watching the vidio several times though, I have to dissagree with you. Bynum has simply spun on his left foot and thrown himself into Wallace's path. Both arms ARE stretched out with the palms down and fingures extended. The first contact is Wallace's left forearm(coming up with the ball for the layup) with Bynum's outstreched right forearm(going for the ball or body, whichever came 1st). The result of that contact is Bynum's arm bends at the elbow as does Wallace's arm. Sorry guys, but Bynum didn't intensionally elbow Wallace.
