I'm really drawing a blank here, and would like some suggestions. Any cuisine is fine. Mexican, American, Italian, etc.

Best I can come up with is the Vietnamese Egg Rolls at Hollywood Vietnamese on Montrose @ Fairview. These things are insanely good. If you haven't tried them, allow me to explain:

These aren't the "spring rolls" that most of y'all have had. These are deep fried, but the skin is much thinner than the chinese version, so it makes for a much crisper crust. Also, the entire filling is pork and spices. No veggies. You eat them by placing them in a lettuce leaf with cilantro and you dip them in the accompanying sauce. They are fantastic.

So, what are some other "must have" appetizers?

I've never been there...but I love Vietnamese egg rolls too, Fatty. We get them at Five Spices on the west side. A big plate of delicious.

I found a picture of them, for reference to people who haven't had them. Personally, I didn't know these things existed until a year ago.

Pub Fiction has AMAZING appetizers and they're 1/2 off on Monday and Tuesday. Best in the city hands down and especially at those prices.

I have had every single appetizer there. Which one do you find all that great?

I mean, they're OK, but I wouldn't even put them on any "great" scale.

the best Vietnamese Egg Rolls are usually at the hole in the wall places off of Bellaire

you can buy these at Viet Hoa or any asian supermarket, hell you can buy it at the HEB off of Beechnut and the Beltway, like 30 of them for $8 and fry them yourself.

the orange sauce you dip it in, is fish sauce, which you can buy those in a bottle also

    good stuff :)

I really enjoy the appetizers at Maggiano’s by the Galleria. The fried zucchini fritte is great. I can eat those all day long. The four cheese ravioli appetizer is great also.
