You feel that way about wrestling and still took the time to click on the thread and post that...sounds like you have yet to reach this mythical age of reason.
I was really into it back in the early 90's, my cousins were hardcore fans, and I really never got into till maybe '93, followed it hardcore, watched every episode of Raw I could, remembered when they first aired Smackdown, watched WCW just because of the nWo and the fact that Scott Hall/Kevin Nash are my favorites of all time. I stop watching probably about back in '04. I still kept up with it as much as I could by reading the reports after each show. Whenever they came into town for Smackdown, Raw, or a PPV, I'd try to make it out because I always have a good time going to a Live event. Got tixs for WM25 in sec 108, tixs for the following night for Raw, and whenever they make up their mind for Smackdown before WM, I'll be there also. Plus the divas is a good reason to still follow them
I used to watch it until maybe the NWO broke up or a bit after that. I think what really made me give it up was that Mark Henry storyline where he impregnates that 200 year old rock troll, Mae Young. That was just repulsive. lol. I probably gave it up a little bit before that. I was really into it back in the 80's though, and through the Hulk Hogan and NWO days.
Yeah, but the story lines for those things are pretty boring. Even with the ultimate fighter, which by being a reality show introduce some drama, it's hard to find people to cheer for or cheer against. Certaintly not at the level of Wrestling.
Not to be a nit...but the $119 is for three separate pay per view events as part of a package, IIRC. They have been showing the commercial a lot on DirecTV recently.
Stopped watching wrestling long ago. Dont think its entirely wrestling's fault though. People's general attitude including mine toward ALL entertainment has changed over the years, more for the worse. Used to be good guys & bad guys & toughness was all it took to interest the audience. Now its if the guy isnt 7 foot tall & can't do a triple backflip off the turnbuckle to pin his opponent, people's interest starts to drift
I watched wrestling lot, but since two years I rarely watch it, sometimes I still do, but not like before.
Wrestling is just starting to re-emerge out of the dead period it hit after The Rock and Austin left. It was almost like the early 90s again, but not nearly as bad. It wasn't quite to the level of King Mabel headlining pay-per-views yet. To answer some questions... Stone Cold broke some vertebrae and risks paralysis if he wrestles again (or much) and thus is retired. Rock of course, does movies and has thinned out a lot. Compared to his wrestling days he's downright skinny. Randy Orton is one of the best heels I've seen in the last 20 years or so. He's starting to really come into his own if his actual ring work ups its game a little. Jericho is awesome. HBK at 43 years old is still amazing, and put on a match of the year candidate with John Cena a few weeks a go. Cody Rhodes and Ted Dibiase, Jr. are destined for stardom as part of Orton's stable, and the rest of the second generation crew are coming soon - Harry Smith (British Bulldog's son), Joe Hennig (Mr. Perfect's son), and Jimmy Snuka, Jr. and Manu (Afa the Wild Samoan's son) are already there. Stone Cold gets inducted into the Hall of Fame at Wrestlemania in Houston this year, too.
I still watch Wrestling but it will never be as good as the WWF Attitude Era.
