rox core players' clutch time fg% are so pathetic, it not only makes you sad, also makes you wanna laugh in some strange way.

    Clutch Statistics
(4th quarter or overtime, less than 5 minutes left,
neither team ahead by more than 5 points)

    FG%

    Yao .452
    Artest .125
    Mcgrady .250
    Battier .143
    Rafer .259
    .....

compared to players from other teams

    Lakers
    Kobe .451
    Gasol .61
    Andrew .50
    Odom .429

    celtics
    ray allen .44
    KG .62
    Pierce .50
    ...

    I am speechless....

This can't be right. T-mac is clutch, I don't care what stat you pull out. Remember the 22 win streak and his second best playoff scoring average in history?

Thanks for posting the choke statistics. I didn’t know that it was that bad. However, Scola is .636.

We play well for the first three quarters, usually up by 10 or more points but we just need some lockdown solid D in the 4th. i dont care if we dont make half our shots as long as we play some damn good defense. rockets need JVG back IMO

Thanks Bob718, I thought I might as well post all the Rockets' clutch FG %:

    Hayes 1.000
    Scola 0.636
    Barry 0.500
    Dorsey 0.500
    Landry 0.462
    Yao 0.452
    Wafer 0.444
    Alston 0.259
    McGrady 0.250
    Brooks 0.167
    Battier 0.143
    Artest 0.125

Small sample size. According to this Choke Meter, Gasol is more clutch than Kobe. I don't think any Lakers fan would agree with you on that.

With 5 seconds left in the game, I still want Tracy to have the ball. He is better in the clutch than Yao.

I am just glad everyone is back in uniform. Team ball will be back. We've seen streaks of it. Only playing together for a while will bring it back consistently. I think we're still in a better spot than last year at this time.

Let's just say that no wonder a Rocket opponent thinks they can come back against them no matter how bad of a team they are.

It only seems to me that this Rocket team is depending on their opponents to just simply roll over and play dead in order to get the wins when they have the lead.

yep Yao is so unclutch

Yao is the best option, he creates doubles, passes fairly well out of the post but the problem is not him its the officials, Yao gets clobbered, I suggest Yao watch some tapes of Shaq and learn to punish his opponents although that type of play today is probably not allowed.

Some of you are misinterpreting the numbers. It's about COLLECTIVELY how low our FG% has been. Ron, Tracy, and Alston eat up a huge share of our shots. The fact that all of them choke is pretty damning.

It also showed party why our offense looked so good with t-mac/artest out. Because we stopped choking.

I worry a little less about Yao, because defense focus on him so much and fouls him so much, that I'm sure his effective FG(fts included) should still be pretty high.

That's not surprsing. The Rockets have a tendency to rely on their "stars" to create plays down the stretch, instead of playing as a team. And the stars -- McGrady in particular -- aren't so great at it anymore.

IMO the best team in the clutch time is the Spurs, pop knows how to draw up plays and Duncan,Manu and Tony know how to create play for themselves and others.
