just a quick look at the salaries around the league allowed me to throw out some hypothetical 'gets' for Artest. i haven't tried them out in the Trade Machine yet, nor am i necessarily pushing for anything; rather, for the sake of discussion, given the topic of this thread, i'm throwing these out there::

    1) Ron Artest + Luther Head = Rip Hamilton
    2) Ron Artest + Luther Head = Wilson Chandler + Q-Rich
    3) Ron Artest + Luther Head = Kirk Hinrich
    4) Ron Artest + Aaron Brooks + Luther Head = Steve Nash
    5) Ron Artest + Luther Head = Luke Ridnour + Charlie Villanueva
    6) Ron Artest = Stephen Jackson + Marcus Laptop Williams
    7) Ron Artest = Marcus Camby
    8) Ron Artest + Luther Head = Mike Miller + Rodney Carney

I'd trade McGrady for any packages based around Dunleavy, or Carter, or Nash, or Hamilton.

i admire your idea, but it is terribly Rockets-centric. you're telling me that, not only do we get to dump T-Mac's $21M, but we pick up Nash, Batum, Outlaw, and LaFrentz's expiring contract??? i can see why Phoenix would do this (Nash is old, Bayless is a hoss, Alston is a decent veteran), but just what in tarnation would compel Portland to do this???

Miles's $9 million just got added to their cap, and you're giving them a handicapped $21M T-Slack for their stars of the future Bayless, Batum, and Outlaw? c'mon man, be realistic.

Not exactly sure how to make this work in terms of salary cap, but ...

Tracy Mcgrady for Ryan Bowen + cash.

Sean Williams + Vince Carter for T-Mac works.

This actually makes some sense for a few reasons. Carter is playing well and has about as much value now as he could have. To get one just past his prime all star for another is probably about as good as they are going to do. More importantly though, this gives the Net's a $20k expiring deal in McGrady during the "summer of Lebron"...and all we have heard about for the last several years is how the Nets want to score Lebron and move to Brooklyn. They got to find someone to take Carter's contract if they are going to do that though and this would give them not only the cap room they need in 2010, but allow them a legit box office draw until then. Financially it also pairs Yi with McGrady - two big draws among the Chinese fans.

The Nets appear to be giving up on Sean Williams anyway and the Rockets might look at him as a nice project as a good shot blocking and rebounding PF(kid has athleticism for days)..plus he is a Houston native. For the Rockets, it finally gives them someone who likes to take it to the whole and can shoot. Probably nothing changes defensively but at least Vince still at least threatens to take it to the hole unlike Tmac. Unfortunately Vince's contract has 4 yrs left on it, but I think 3-4 years is the maximum amount of time before you have to blow this team up for rebuilding. Yao has 3 more years on his contract and realistically won't be able to play much past 30 given the health track record of big men like himself. This helps them to tread water a little bit longer and may pan out if they can get Vince to focus on winning a championship before he retires. Given the alternatives(probably not a lot), it might be the best deal they can get.

Blazers were hyping their $17M free agency money. They were looking to add a third cornerstone to their franchise. That's not happening anymore unless they can trade LaFrentz's expiring contract.

T-Mac might be struggling this season but he's put up a triple double and a couple near triples. It'd be a gamble for Portland but it's only for 1.5 season. If it doesn't work out he's an expiring contract next year. So worst case they're extending LaFrentz's expiring contract as a trade asset.

None of the players (Batum, Bayless, and Outlaw) they give up in this proposal are starters if their current squad is fully healthy. Webster would push Batum and Outlaw to the bench or even out of any minutes. Outlaw has been shopped since the off-season.

Man you suck, that sounds so good right about now.

This trade needs to happen, look at all the money we could save and resign Wafer at the end of the season.

i would like to see tracy and rip maybe.....but not nash....He can't play in a half court offense and we have one of the slowest big's in the league, he is turrable fit....artest and head would get the deal done for Rip......or even a package of head, hayes, and battier would work.....Now you say why would the Pistons do it? My question to you would be why do the Rockets do it just because Rip just signed a 3 year extension which would make him 35 when his contract expires.....

Now for the Pistons they do this just because they know that contract is to large....so maybe they would take a battier, hayes, and head package....they are not going to win this or next year, they would save roughly 31 million dollars.....Battier is from the michigan area so it would be a homecoming somewhat for him....saying that i acutally like that trade now..

your earlier trade bails them out to much and the pistons win in that trade to me...a line up of suckey, prince, tmac, amare, and wallace oh **** kind of scary..
the one i did makes us better and will free up money for the pistons which it seems like they are trying to do

    our lineup

    Alston,Brooks
    Tracy,wafer,barry
    Rip,artest
    Scola,Landry
    Yao,Deke

no defense in the starting lineup but hell we haven't played any all year we might as well try and out score everyone

Next time you post maybe you should come up with a solution instead of making an ignorant post with no substance. Its ironic that you call someone stupid and then you can't even spell banned lol.
