Your selfish reasoning is exactly why im glad to live in the United States of America. If our enemies were attacking our country I have no problem fighting to defend it while you cower down in your rat hole.

Is it possible that Hakeem chooses not to discuss his religion with you or anyone else? Why is it your business what he thinks and believes?

Please provide a link for all these rascist texts in the Koran.
Also, if you would be so kind, explain what certifies you to talk to anyone like that.

Yes we have the freedom to say anything we want.
So in turn you have the right to be judged as an idiot from those who think you are full of schytte.

Yeah, it's not like Islam is a significant part of Nigerian culture or anything. Look, you can't just blame everyone in a group of over a billion for the actions of a few people who are committing atrocities that have occurred throughout history in many different places. I'm not about to start hating Christians for what happened in Kosovo; are you?

Hakeem's originally from NIGERIA, a country of 148 million, half of which are Muslim. What exactly has he abandoned?

Sudan btw, is not Nigeria. It IS in the same continent, but by that logic Tony Parker should answer for Slobodan Milošević. And maybe Scola should answer for Pinochet...but why stop there?

We should really wonder why Lior Eliyahu has abandoned his middle-eastern brothers, the Kurds, for not speaking out against their oppression by the Turks and Iraqis. Man, what a jerk THAT guy is.

Name one thing Hakeem has raised money for that has gone to Arab Muslims killing people in Sudan.

Show me a link where Deke has suggested that Hakem has abandoned his African heritage.

Your beef is that some Muslims in Sudan are killing people so somehow that means all Muslims are bad. Then you are upset that HAkeem is comfortable in Jordan and dedicated to a religion that helped him change his life. In Jordan he's able to study that religion even more.

You whole argument is based on a lack of logic. Because Christians in one area are murdering people who aren't Christians doesn't mean Christians everywhere support that.

You aren't making sense. Go back and think about what you are saying.

Olajuwon is a devout Muslim, and it's a fact that all of the holy Islamic places are in the Arab world. That's where he can learn the most about his faith. He's made it pretty clear that's why he lives in that part of the world. That doesn't mean he prefers Arabs over non-Arab Africans. You apparently have this world view that people with the same skin color or people that speak the same language need to stick together. You should judge people by their deeds, not their faith or where they choose to live.

And I haven't heard Olajuwon talk about a lot of different issues. What has he said about the Israel-Palestine conflict? What has he said Chechnya? What has he said about our invasion of Iraq? Etc.

Wow. You are a moron, I'm sorry, but there is no nice way of putting it. I'm from USA, why would I go out of my way to save the people of Greenland personally? That is what I said. I never said I wouldn't defend my own country.

Hakeem is from Nigeria, has US citizenship, and lives in Jordan currently. He is not from the Sudan, so why is this his responsibility. I think you should be banned from this site.

I do recall reading something like that a long time ago. Like, back in the 90s. It might have been when he chose to play for the USA team.

tex thinks that the best way to make up for being called out on his seemingly racist rhetoric is to pounce on others for the same. He has not, of course, actually addressed what anyone was saying about his own remarks:

    1. Olajuwon is from Nigeria, not Sudan.

    2. What homeland do you mean? Sudan, Nigeria, US? He's an American citizen; are you upset he doesn't live in Texas? Why should he live in his homeland, whatever that is? If I'm a Frenchman living in Texas, am I betraying my homeland?

    3. Why do you infer that Olajuwon must not care about suffering in this supposed homeland from the fact he doesn't speak publicly about it?

While the Arab world does turn a blind eye towards anything that doesn't directly affect them, do not confuse the word Muslim and the word Arab. To think that Arabs reflect the majority of Muslims just proves your ignorance. Your oil remark doesn't even make sense, Sudan is a massive producer of oil -- please, educate yourself about the situation in Darfur. Here's some quick facts for you, from. . lo-and-behold . . savedarfur.com (yeah that's western media bias for you!).

Blaming Arab countries for what is going on in the area is a pretty narrow view of things. Everyone should be held accountable, but if you're going to tie this back to those darn Moslems with their beards and bombs, then you ought to gain a little insight on the real situation. Blame superpowers as much as you blame Arab nations. It took Moreno-Ocampo like 4 years to get a warrant for the arrest of Omar al-Bashir for International War Crimes, that just shows you how slow the UN works.

Okay, first of all -- Hakeem is Nigerian. To say that Africa is his homeland is pretty ignorant in itself. I don't get where you can tie Hakeem and Sudan together, but for all you know Hakeem just hasn't gone public. The Western media is too afraid to report it, right? Even though I feel people with influence should do their best to be activists, I don't see how you can pin this on Hakeem, or even on Islam.

I'll even say that your claim here is arguable, but I am not sure where exactly you got that from. Here's just a few verses (that I've read in context) I know that refute your claim (maybe someone has some more):

The above was quoted from Sahih Bukhari, and if you know anything about Hadiths in Islam, you would know that the title Sahih means "complety authentic" in that it was confirmed by direct accounts by many people that the Prophet did indeed say that.

A quick Google search found me these two:
