ididot...... lol..... anyway. HOW ABOUT THE OTHER 4 ON OFFENSE WHO STOP MOVING WHENEVER HE GETS THE BALL. HOW ABOUT REEFER ALWAYS TRYING TO BE THE HERO, HOW ABOUT CHUCK HAYES FOULING 3 POINT SHOOTERS!!!!! HOW ABOUT RON MISSING WIDE OPEN THREES FROM PASSES HE GETS FROM TRACY! HOW ABOUT ALSTON MISSED CLUTCH SHOT, OR SCOLA MISSED LAY-UP OR ARTEST MISSING ONE! OH I GUESS YOU MISSED THAT TOO!!!! DAMN YOU MAKE ME SICK!
His second point. The one he brought out first is the part where T-Mac turns into a black hole, sucking up the ball which he coughs up from beyond the three point line and candy bars/junk food which never, ever reappear again.
so you'd take anyone who shoots better than 4-for-19? yeah, jacking up jumpers and sulks on defense are called playing hard - maybe only in your books. not surprised, since you have the same bball iq as he does apparently. if this is all a $20+ mils player can give - in a "full throttle" comeback - maybe it's time for us to trade him away, or for himself to retire. if you're being sarcastic (just in case), then i apologize.
Isn't it basic knowledge in all sports to go to the guy when he is on fire? I thought there was a thread long ago on who is the 1st option in RA's offense, I thought tons of fans agreed to feed the hot hands. What you said isn't related to what I said. If a guy is in clutch mode, you keep him hot by feeding him. If the players decide not to feed the hot hands but instead jack it up themselves then something is wrong.
I really don't understand what you expect from one Tracy Mcgrady. Can any of you name one dominant wing player that isn't a ball stopper? Kobe - ball stopper. Lebron - ball stopper. Wade - ball stopper. Joe Johnson and Pierce - ball stoppers. Vince Carter - black hole. The point is if u expect Tmac to play like a superstar - expect him to dominate the ball. Thats the nature of the NBA game. If you expect him to constantly move and shoot jumpers off of curls -than you should trade him for Rip Hamilton. Don't b**** and complain about his numbers and him being an "average player" when he plays in a motion offense and complain again when hes trying to take over and win the game. You can't have it both ways.
When TMAC makes the type of comments he makes RE: getting the last laugh, etc. and so on... then he should be called out by the fans when he sucks. He told us he would come back better than ever. If he had said "Hey, I'm getting old. I'm going to get help from my teammates cuz I can't do it anymore" he'd have less people on his case. But, instead, he complains of lack of touches, etc. and insists he's still the same player. Ron's comments are always laced with a touch of humility... "I'm gonna come back try hard, etc." whereas TMAC comments are all "I'm gonna prove to all the haters I'm still the best" So why can't we get upset when he doesn't follow through?
No, this is a motion offense. That means guys move without the ball and the ball goes to the guy who's open. Matt Bullard said the Adelman offense can be summed by describing it as "open layups under the basket". Does that sound anything like T-Mac to you? The ball goes to the open guy, period. The problem is that when T-Mac's in the game he doesn't pass and he doesn't move without the ball. He's a terrible fit for the offense--the issue isn't his skill or his athleticism, it's just that he does not fit.
I agree.....Our offense got stagnant at the end, but it got stagnant yesterday at the end as well....No one really cared because we won. The reason our offense has been stagnant is because we were missing our leading scorer.
Tmac can ball stop all he wants when he is able to beat the double team, which he was able to do at full strength. When he is recovering, he has to know when to play the offense. Thats not actually expecting too much at all.
Magic, Kareem and Worthy all averaged less than 20 ppg in the late '80's when the Lakers won championships. They were superstars, of the kind T-Mac can only dream about becoming.
Except what he said doesn't apply to this thread. Unless you automatically assume that there are only two types of fans in this forum, there's really no indication of extreme bias either way in this thread.
He didn't exactly ball stop in the Detroit game - yet people b**** and complain about how he didn't put up Tmac like numbers even though we won the game.
So true. When T-Mac is on the floor, other players (Scola, Rafer... ) play bad comparing when they play without T-MAc. It's not coincidence anymore. There are reasons for that.
i did. i said i was a little pissed by the "full throttle" comeback. look, no one in his right mind will say that #1 and #96 intentionally messed up the offense and the fragile chemistry (if there was any). but obviously when these 2 were on the bench in the prior few weeks, they didn't observe and learn much.
