I would just like to let everyone know, I am being discharged out of the Army for medical reasons AFTER a long 6 years and 2 deployments to Iraq. I am really excited to say the least! I'm looking for a in the Spring Area If anyone is selling or know of someone selling. I have been Looking into getting a job at the Montgomery county Sheriffs Dept. (i know about the thread of cops). I have been in the military police for 6 years basically doing physical security for higher ranking individuals. I have done road patrol but have never written a ticket.... My wife is currently raising our child and she has 100% disability and gets compensated every month, I am looking at about 60% when i get out! I was interested to see if anyone can help me out with employment or jobs out there someone might know of. Now moving from Georgia back to texas is gonna be a big struggle.... I am dreading it but i can't wait to get there!
I live on the north side of town and I know that there are quite a few homes for sale. Where to begin looking totally depends on how much money you want to spend.
Sorry to hear about any medical issues, but regardless, Thanks, you have my respect, and good luck on the move.
Welcome home and thank you for all you've done for our country. As for housing, it's a great time to be buying if you have a 20% down and the credit to get a loan. Houses are so cheap and people are real desperate. Sometimes I feel guilty that when I buy (and I will soon) I'll be getting a great deal because someone else is getting the shaft. But just remember you're not the one that put them there. Good luck.
Just know that saying Spring doesn't really narrow it down a whole lot. That could mean from Hardy to almost Tomball and from 1960 to The Woodlands.
LOL, not trying to nit pick but 1960 and Rayford Sawdust aren't exactly right next to each other. Also, if you are looking to buy a house, Montgomery County will be much better on taxes and probably a better place to live on the budget that you are looking at. I'm kind of a snob so take what I say with a grain of salt but I wouldn't ever live at 45 and 1960. It's just not the kind of area that I would want to be in. I'd check out the following areas: Klein, Tomball, Magnolia, anything north of The Woodlands.
Snob. Just kidding. Personally, it would take a fantastic bargain for me to even think about moving outside of the loop, and I work off of Rayford/Sawdust. I'm actually trying to find a foreclosure steal on a highrise or a townhome right now.
Thanks for your service and congratulations on completing your tour and coming home. Since I don't live in Houston anymore I can't help you but good luck on finding a house.
You don't got no childrens living with you. I'd never want to raise a family inside the loop, hell, I doubt I'd want to raise a family inside the beltway.
what he said. stay north/northwest towards the places he mentioned... the southern parts of the spring area have decilned pretty noticeably in my opinion. grew up off of 1-45 and cypresswood in the cypresswood area and while the area isn't a bad one per se, it has not aged well. and apparently the klein school district has declined drastically as well according to friends that still live in the area
I live in Klein and agree with this. The area is nice but I've heard some negative things about the school district.
