No, but I'm not a max contract-toting 310lb, 7'6" Chinese guy with an injury history who's been the most important player on a playoff contender this season. The pain was bad enough for him to basically take himself out for the second half, and you're surprised they'd get an MRI?

The way you say things is just funny sometimes, that's all. So amusingly authoritative.

Yao's missed a significant amount of games the past 3 seasons. I have a scary/sick feeling that if he isn't cautious (tonight is a warning) and doesn't take a breather that he will have another serious setback coming. I really don't think he has the stamina to go the course of a full season especially after dedicating so much time and energy to the summer Olympics. I'd much rather have Yao take a few weeks off for the sake of being healthy/fresh and avoiding injury due to fatigue.

We can build chemistry after the all star break. If we start getting hot towards the middle of March and our Stars are healthy/fresh we will be a force to be reckoned with.

Your knee doesn't have to be hyperextended to get ligament damages. If you your knee is collided it is still possible for a tearing of the ligament, so MRI scan would still be used.

Why didn't RA take Yao out early in the first instead of playing him the whole quarter. Yao look tired before he got injured if look back at the game.

    Yao should have more rest.
This is the time when he is prone to injury. The last three years have proved.
Fatigue can easily lead to injury, not to mention the heavy responsibility have on him.
    Bless Yao!

"I’m OK," Yao said. "We’ll see how I feel tomorrow. It was just a knee-to-knee hit. It was not just today; the last 10 games, I got a couple hits on the same spot. It felt a little bit funny after the first play. The X-ray showed the bone is fine. I did (worry) before the picture came."

I am glad to hear its not all that bad. Don't know how many games he's gonna miss but I actually would like him to take one week break just to rest.

I am just sorta blunt, I rarely mean it as harsh as it sounds. People read it and think I am saying something when in reality I am meaning another.

    Ah well...

How much is a "few weeks"? Thats being a biiiit too cautionary I think. Even if Yao did take 4 weeks off (the same time frame as the pkboy false injury crap) he'd still be well ahead of last 3 seasons games played.

Or Yao can say its effecing him mentally and he's "frightened" of taking off from the leg, or he didnt get to rehab properly in the offseason cuz of Olympics and he'll get the McGrady exception

houston chronicle described yao's knee as swollen like a D cup boob so obviously it is serious enough to warrant an MRI

for some reason i actually think it'd be awesome for yao to play in kneepads. better than those damn headbands everyone wears

i definitely remember those kneepads ewing wore, i cant remember hakeem wearing pads although obviously per that picture posted he did

Depending on the results of that MRI, kneepads may be the least of our concerns.
