Yao's knee collided with Battier's. I doubt collisions like that will cause any ligament damages. If X-ray is negative, then Yao is fine. He probably felt something on his bruised knee.

That being said, Yao was also able to enter the game again after the collision, he only left in shoot around at the half when he didn't feel right. With ligament damages on his knees he probably would've stopped walking by now considering his height and weight.

Good thing Yao is more vocal about his health than before.

If you are an NBA player that is 7'6 with a history of leg issues, then yes, you do get a MRI everytime you bang knees if it is bad enough to make you miss the rest of the game.

Unless of course you have the recuperative powers of DD. Then it doesnt matter what the injury is.

Yao will be fine, I am going to be pissed if hes out for a long period of time when Ron and Mac are going to come back either Sun or Mon.

If all pkboy said was "you'll see, out 4 weeks," you are all overreacting when calling for his banishment. That's called a prediction, not a rumor. Just hope he's wrong.

Pacers missed most of their jumpers, Rockets have to protect the paint to beat them. But the coach just keeps Deke on the bench.

even if it's not serious, he should still sit out a game or so just to make sure it's healed.

Yao should sit a few games once Tmac and Ron come back. Yao always gets injured this time of year.

I think you are right. It is good for him & it is good for the Rockets for the long run.

Yao has become more careful with any pain and discomfort. Before he was injured several times in past several years, he would have played in games like tonight's one.

His being out of tonghit's game was just some precaution on his part. Most likely, he will be fine and ready for the next game.

Even if Yao can play and the knee injury is not serious.... I'd love for him to take a few weeks off till the All star break. He really can use the rest and hopefully Tmac and Ron can come back in a week and pick up the slack until after the ALL Star break when we finally have everyone back fully rested but more importantly completely healthy so we can finally make our push and build chemistry.

Its a sign, Yao needs to gear up and harness the power of the Dream.

We can't just have our superstars taking breaks, just because they can use the rest. We need to build team chemistry NOW, so that our offense flows well in the playoffs.
