Wow that was a brutal exchange. Payton - using stats tried to prove he was a better player then /kenny. Kenny - All it matters is his 2 championship ring and that Payton has 0. Kenny- Apologizes and then excuses Payton of stealing one at the end. (Webber doing his OMG HE GOTCHA GOOD gestures) Payton(upset) - said Kenny was like a monkey on the back riding Hakeem over and over. later during the broadcast. TNT showed a clip of Kenny driving past Payton and slamming it home with 2 hands.
One thing for sure about Gary Payton, time has not diminished his ability to talk, talk, talk, talk, talk, talk, talk, talk, talk, my God, the man loves the smell of his own farts, he's completely intoxicated with himself. Webber isn't too bad, I can deal with him, especially since he did such a good job deflating Payton's B.S. I only watched the pregame and those two are the worst guests they've had on the show... It just turned into 2 idiots arguing and trying to talk over one another the whole time. ....and was it just me or does GP's jaw drift to the side when he talks?

GP is horrendous. Webber is pretty good. And no, Webber never said anything about not having a great coach.
Payton is just like he was on the court when he tries to have a basketball debate, a whiny b----. And he doesn't know how to speak decent english, which he should be embarrassed by. Webber was a little better, but he has way too many personal grudges. I guess that's what happens when you never win a championship.

I remember liking both of them when they were doing a Rocket game on NBATV. I think it might have been election night or something, they were all in a good mood.
they are grooming them to be the next Kenny/Charles whenever Kenny and Charles leave. Webber has been on many times on TNT. Plus these guys are regulars on NBATV. All Gary Payton does is talk trash. which was a perfect example last night.
these guys are funny. i liked the part where Payton was talking about "good players on bad teams" and mentioned that if you gave Kenny 30 shots, he wouldn't be getting 30 points like some of them. Web looked at Kenny and said "UH OH! We're about to have a fight here!"
i actually like Webber he is a bit more willing to say things about players and all without it being him doing it for shocks sake and all. he also makes some interesting comments like his thing last night about how its not fair to reject players from the all-star team because they are on bad teams. and how maybe even sometimes being on good teams may help your stats even more. GP annoys the hell out of me he is just talking out of his ass most of the time and i really wish they had replaced him with someone else. I did like though how both of them were bagging on Andre Aldridge (who i absolutely hate i dont know how he still has a job at nba tv) a few weeks ago and he just stood there laughing and taking it. reminded me of that nerdy kid in the back of the class that bullies made fun of but he took it because he wanted to be part of the spotlight.

Payton needs some ESL classes now, Webber isn't that great either, I guess they did some Demographic studies from Last year (NBA TV) and they figured most people who watch NBATV are younger kids who don't mind how articulate the "analysts" are, the previous years the analysts were far superior.
Very true. They had Gail Goodrich (Hall of Famer) and other good x and o analysts and it must be what you said. The kids want to listen to current players. They basically replaced a bunch of old white guys with popular players. It has to be better for business, otherwise they wouldn't do it. I still think that we are not giving enough credit to C-Webb and Payton. If you disregard their loudness and lack of grammar, they make really good arguments and they conduct better interviews like they did with Lamar Odom. Lamar would have probably given some cliches if asked by anybody else. But because he respects them, he opened up about his contract and about the disappointing loss last year.
Half the time they don't even talk about basketball is what pisses me off. Gary/Chris are pretty fun though.
