sorry for the double post but you are WRONG.....he is not getting the minutes in the second half due to RA........there was no reason to take him out the game for brooks or battier one answer it is the coaching that is all

Well of course Von's a first half player, that's the point. How can he be a 2nd half player if he doesn't play in the 2nd half?

When the Jazz started making their late 4th Qtr run, the absence of Wafer was glaring. I honestly think RA simply forgot about Wafer until the scoring inability of the Rockets reared its ugly head and he suddenly decided to get Von into the game and of course he immediately hits a 3. Even Clyde mentioned at that time that no one for the Rox was looking to shoot the ball (Battier, Rafer, AB all passing up shots are taking indecisive shots). Sometimes I just think RA has brainfarts when it comes to subbing late in the game.

Speaking of RA's subbing brainfarts, I couldn't understand RA's insistence on subbing Yao out for Hayes for defensive purposes in the last 45 seconds. I mean the first time it happened, Paul Milsap immediately took Hayes to the rack. Yao comes back in for offense gets taken out again for Hayes and inexpicably, Milsap is all alone in the paint dunking it again. Didn't make any sense at all to me.

I said it during the game and I will say it again. Wafer (majority of the time) has a superb 1st half but when he does have this superb first half he ALWAYS has cooled down in the 2nd half.

I do not know if its the teams adjusting for him not knowing who the hell he was in the first half. Maybe he isn't used to playing starter minutes as of yet and is still growing accustomed but is still tired. What ever it is, I haven't missed a game yet and I noticed this same trend with all of them he has played.

you know while I agree with his def, I think he is improving every game (with exception to ytd and that run away dunk wtf?) but I thought he did an exceptional job on Peirce last meeting.

I was at the game and I have to say I agree with you. I remembered I was begging for RA to pull Shane and put Wafer back in the game.

wafer can create his own shot....he shoots tough jumpers all the time and is pretty good at driving into the paint

As the coach mentioned after an earlier match, it was coach's adjustment when the defense becomes collapse on Von in the second half with him having a red-hot first half. It's been so for several games so and works well so I won't bother as long as we win.
