If only New Orleans lost too - but that's just being greedy I guess. ;)

More important to create some separation from the bottom of the playoff race than challenge for the top right now...

Because he had Matt Harpring on him and they only went to him in the post to two times.

And on one of those touches against Harpring answered a Utah 3pt with a 2 and 1 I believe.

    Great win for our team.

I think some people are being too hard on AB and Shane. Battier needs to hit those open shots. AB needs to get himself back in the flow of the game. His problem is he's not playing with confidence. Ideally, AB will find his touch and balance out Rafer. It would be great to see them playing well at the same time. Also, I don't agree with putting him in the backcourt with Rafer (although I understand it is to help him get more minutes). He seems really lost on those occassions. Battier does so many other things on the court though and I don't suspect we'll see too many 1-9 nights from him.

really a fun game to watch, as rockets games are now without tmac and ron.

really gotta hand it to von wafer, he's playing out of his mind and playing with a lot of confidence. but i can't believe he dunked that ball on the breakaway with a little time left. we could have just ran out the clock but he took it in for the dunk anyway. i HATE players that do that. i remember stackhouse did that last year i think on our home court on a similar breakaway steal. he could've pulled back for the clock kill but he jammed it. it infuriated me. wish von thought better of it and had pulled it back. other than that, a great performance by wafer.

I am in total agreement with you...but when it comes to the Jazz, sportsmanship can go out the window for all I care.

That's how much hatred I got for that team...

He was caught up in the moment and the crowd. It's certainly not a classy thing to do (I'm sure it was unintentional), and I'm sure he was told about it.

I actually think in this case it was the smart thing to do.

Yes we were ahead, but the Jazz had just gotten two easy layups in a row. You take the easy score and give yourself more space.

If you actually thought the Jazz were going to just let him run out the clock.. then maybe, but they were already in "foul and make them earn it at the line" mode.

If there had been like 4 seconds left.. then yes.. don't go for the dunk.

But in this instance with these circumstances... you get the easy 2.

I don't buy this whole "respect for the game" BS. Its a home game, the game is basically over so you aren't making it harder/easier for them to win. There's like 20 seconds left and you are alone at your basket. And most importantly, he didn't taunt the other team or the bench or any of that.

People that are going to get pissed at **** like that. "Oh, he's running up the score!" **** em. It was a nice dunk to cap off the end of the game.

Personally I think if you win the game you should be able to get a free dunk at the end of regulation just to go out with a bang.

Not to mention, that dunk gave him over 20 points.

Chill out. Nobody is criticizing Wafer. Read the posts. I said he was caught up in the game, so no big deal. It's still not something you do. Relax

absolutely, and it was three easy layups... the jazz weren't giving up, why should the Rockets?

Always happy when we defeated Jazz. Just hate that dirty team.

    Great ball movement. Great game.

Still need a solution for a strong PG if we want to go further in the playoff...Guys like Deron Williams could kill us.

I was fine with Wafer having that dunk since the Jazz should have just let the game end quickly instead of extending it. If they conceded the game earlier then hold the ball but that dunk was just treating them to what they deserved.

Wafer is shooting very well, but I've noticed he's not the smartest player. That dunk was uncalled for.

He doesn't seem to know or want to run the offense...but for now, his shooting is making us all overlook that point. He's obviously very concerned with getting his points. The comparisons to Flip Murray are VERY appropo (sp?).

I'd have a problem with Wafer's dunk in normal circumstances, but the Jazz had just sent us to the line about ten times in the previous twenty seconds of gametime. They might have fouled Wafer, even with the short amount of time left on the clock, so why waste everyone's time when a breakaway presents itself?

Great, great win. Yao was solid and did a good job schooling when they put him in one on one situations. His passes out of the double team were very well done too. Rafer was amazing. His steal on Deron Williams at the end was fantastic.

As for Wafer, I don't think I've ever seen anyone run away from their man on a fast break, but he made up for it the next possession with that big 3.

Battier clearly doesn't look comfortable shooting, and was even more deferential than usual. I think his foot is bothering him alot more than we realize.

Forget the jazz, I wish Wafer would have windmill'd it or did something extravagant, then took off back on defense with his arms out like an airplane(showboating)...lol..I hate the jazz

that is true, had the jazz been planning on fouling again, it would have been smart to go for the score. i don't remember what the jazz were doing when he got that ball on the drive. were they running after him or just laying back..

anyways, i don't like things like what stackhouse did last year, and what some of these clowns do trying to get a triple double. if you needed 1 more assist for a triple dip, with your team up by 15, and a chance to run the clock out, you do it. you don't pass for a quick uncontested three by a teammate.

i guess it can get a pass since it was on the j*zz too. i would allow on the mavpricks as well.

to the jazz fans and nbatv people, it probably looked like a bench player trying to run up his points total. i don't like that perception on rox players.
