i think its more that ron will not sign with us after this season (the team probably knows that more than anybody) and they want compensation now.
I'm sure they did. They also knew he would great value at the trade deadline. More than the rook they could have kept.
I'm not sure I agree with that. If anything, given Artest's injuries and bad shooting, his value has gone down from the point when we brought him in. If they do trade him, I believe it's because they aren't happy with what he's bringing and want a player that will help the team more.
So far in the last couple of weeks we have been trying to trade-Chuck, Rafer, Head. Tracy and now Ron Ron-- this is not the way to build a championship Team if you are in the WIN NOW MODE Soon!! Reporters will have to name the source of their information to comply with the Honest in Reporting News Bill which The New America will adopt under President Obama
How can the Rockets sign Wafer if they take on a longer term contract? Someone has to go next season, and Ron's expiring would make sense, wouldn't it? That's why I'd be surprised if Ron was traded. Now, if I had heard this rumor a month ago, I'd be more inclined to believe it.
So this story has no merit, but any story bashing T-Mac is accurate to the last detail. Like the guy who posted here last week that his sister worked in the same facility where T-Mac trained and she blew him, so she knew that he didn't train hard. Ah, the fresh smell of hypocrisy
Seems like the ultimate in cynicism. We sign the guy with the notion of trading him, yet promote all the "big-three" hype after signing him? Sounds to me like someone is just stirring up more trouble, as if we didn't already have enough swirling controversy.
This is stupid.....so if we trade him, we basically have the same team from last year that lost in the 1st round. Some of you might say, but we Yao this year.....as we've learned a lot of times anything can happen with our two stars (Yao and TMac). Ron is insurance and can be the one that gets us over the hump even with TMac and Yao healthy. I'll be really pissed if they trade him
If you trade Artest, the most logical piece to bring in is either a legit starting PG or a more well-rounded PF. That means you package Artest with one of the following players: Alston, Brooks, Scola or Landry.
depends who we can get to improve our team by trading him. i doubt we'd get anything worth it, though. i'd trade him for a top-tier pg but other than that, i'd like to keep him. he'll pay off in the playoffs.
