It is not only about 2 heands... Remember that horrible flop when they didn't call a foul but it forced Yao to miss a shot? I mean, come on. Maybe fans can't do much about that, but coaches should.
well i havent had a chance to watch the game yet since it was on nbatv yesterday (forgot to set the dvr) and couldnt watch online so i'll dl the r2k vid or the other one whichever is faster when i get home so i can watch the game and i'll cut out the sequences which are "illegal" or bad calls to yao. it may take a day or two depends on when i finish downloading the game. i dont mind doing this game if someone else is willing to do the other games and then possibly rotate on that basis with the jazz game tomorrow you know there will be something fishy in that game.
Where I sat for the game yesterday there was a clear view of them using 2 hands EVERY TIME Yao was in the post. Everybody around me were screaming '2 HANDS!!!' every time and I know the ref could hear us. Didn't do any good though
Do you know that for a fact? I believe JVG was sending in video all of the time but it's up to the head of officiating to do something...not sure about this staff but I bet they do it also
the refs don't give a rats a$$. they allow big men to get pushed. Seems like it's been that way for a long time. A ref told the dream that he would not call fouls when others hit him b/c he was so big. I don't think there would be any change if every single rox fan on the front row had a sign. However.... If I lived in Houston and was at the game and was in earshot of any refs... I would scream my head off every time I saw the 2 hand push.
Here's the chant: IN VIOLATION... OF RULE 12... SECTION 7... AS IT READS... NO PLAYER MAY... USE BOTH HIS HANDS... AGAINST THE BACK... OF ANOTHER PLAYER!!! GO YAO!! IN VIOLATION... ...
JZmagic, I know for a fact we send in tapes. Probably as much if not more than any team in the L. After all, no one is as grossly mis-officiated as Yao Ming
In the thread with thew Morey interview, he does say that they send tape to the league all the time, especially about the two hands on the back complaint. Has it made a difference? Doesn't seem like it.
How about we do it to More Bounce To The Ounce - Zapp and Roger Instead of saying more bounce to the ounce you can say push push in the back ...or something
When teams used to complain that Karl Malone would take more than 10 seconds to shoot his foul shots, opposing fans would begin a countdown as soon as the ref passed Malone the ball....it forced the refs to enforce the rules....don't recall if the violation was ever called because, if anything, it forced Malone to quicken his routine and shoot the ball before the fans got to "10."
What you want to do is associate some type of horn sound with the violation. So whenever someone has two hands in the back you sound the horn and follow it with a short chant...like "2 hands in Yao's back!, 2 hands in Yao's back...FOUL FOUL FOUL!"...someone more creative than myself can easily come up with a better chant.
I'm with you. You gotta start somewhere, sort of like a grassroots campaign. Besides if the fans didn't make it tougher on the refs by doing this it might make the oranization change it's tune.
