OK, so i am baffled by this call. ive watchd the play about 50x watching the refs reaction time, and trying to figure out who he points at. i thought nene had 5 fouls before this play(meaning this foul would have been it for him) but he continued to play. i dont see anything that needs to be calld on nene but kleiza charged chuck. nba.com is reporting that nene was calld for the foul, but i think it was on kleiza. any clarification?? check about 1:50 into the video http://www.nba.com/video/games/rockets/2009/01/19/nba_den_hou_0020800605_recap.nba/index.html
It's simply mislabeled on that video description. The play by play from nba.com clearly indicates that it was a foul on Kleiza.
Was that charge legit? I know if I was a Nuggets fan, I wouldn't be happy with a drawn charge after the pass. Those always annoy me. Nice job anyways for Hayes. He did what he's supposed to do.
both clyde and bill, and the nba.com highlight. but i kno nene wouldve been flipping out if it had been calld on him(anyone would)
Honestly I'm annoyed by most charge calls. Unless a guy just bulldozes his way to the basket and plows the defender over it shouldn't be a charge call. In some cases the offensive player has already made his move which makes the call even worse.
it was a charge and i am fine with the call whether the offensive player is taking a shot or passing the ball it shouldnt make a difference imo. The defender, in this case chuck, was in position well before the offensive player made his break to the basket if anything kleiza should have either changed his course of dribble or passed out earlier before the contact. because he tried to go to a spot that was already occupied by the defender, who is entitled to that position, he creates the foul. watching the replay on nba.com i dont think the passing angle to nene would have been available had kleiza gone horizontal to avoid chuck off the dribble or if he had passed earlier to avoid the charge since nene was running on the baseline. its was a ballsy call be salvatore i will say that, but i do feel it was the correct call that was made.
it was about as obvious a charge as your gonna get in this league, whether people like it or not it is a rule, and that was a perfectly clear charging foul on kleiza.
What exactly is the rule for that? If it's after the pass, the player is allowed to run into a guy who clearly has position (Chuck)? That doesn't make sense to me either.
This was a clear offensive foul by Kleaza. I only have a problem with charges being called when a defender isn't set until after the offensive player leaves his feet. I hate seeing that called even though our players get away with it alot.
That's an easy call. Even if it wasn't legit no Denver fan should even be complaining about that considering we got screwed over for 45 minutes.
After Hayes went down and Barry, Barry was telling Hayes to stay longer on the floor, was hilarious, hahahaha.
Oh, this whole time I thought it was called on Nene for clearing. I knew there should have been a charge but, like someone above said, clyde said it was clearing with his left hand? And I assumed (not sure why...) clyde was right...oh well. And durvasa, I know what you mean, but what was hayes supposed to do? Even if he tried to move, there would have likely been some contact between he and kleiza...probably resulting in hayes picking up a foul for 'running into him'.
