Shane should be hitting creases just like wafer. Instead he stands in the corner and does nothing. No cuts,no slashes , nothing. Then wade had what 30 again? C'mon.
I hope that if Tmac doesn't come back in run the offense and move the ball, Rick has the balls to sit him down and play him as backup. I have when people say we need Tmac to get into the playoffs and then we're out round 1. I'd rather lose in round 1 without Tmac and grow than let him stop everyone else from growing
Thats where they want him on offense, thats his spot. And his one fg attempt was a slash to the basket on a backdoor layup. Wade had 29 points, on 25 fg attempts, 25!!!! And only shot 6 ft's. I don't see how anyone else could've done much better than Shane did defensively.
I agree, great defense job on D-Whitsle. Anytime D-whitsle have less than 12ft you know you done your job.
actually his only bucket tonight was off a cut and an assist from yao. i know how you think of shane. but tonight is not a game to back up your view.
that was funny. also a bit of sad reality. wade imo isn't the only ?-whistle in the league. there are a few others. unfortunately, none of the rockets has had the "honor".
Plus you gotta remember Shane still isn't 100%, he's not playing nearly as many minutes as he usually does due to his sore foot. Sure it would be nice to see him hit a few 3's we all love him for, but he is holding it down on defense while still trying to get up to his normal playing level
This game was great from start to finish. From Wafer's layup to start the game, to Landry's last few shots of the fourth quarter. Yao's 12 for 12 was amazing. Rafer's 3rd quarter was amazing. The ball movement was good. Especially like how Barry moves it around. Looked to me like Battier's ankle isn't sitting right. Perhaps a little more time will align it better. Even though he put in a solid defensive performance on Wade. Looks to me like AB is trying to establish a to the basket game. And he is getting frustrated when he doesn't get any calls when there is contact, which is taking him out of his shooting game. At least for now. Count me as one excited for TMac and Ron to come back. I have a feeling all of this will still gel. It will be good.
Rafer was able to get shots off because the Heat were leaving him to double and triple Yao. I guess even Rafer can score once in awhile when nobody is guarding him.
I remember after the Heat game on Nov. 24, Artest said Adelman told him to keep Wade from penetrating, keep him in front and make him take jump shots. It looked like the strategy was similar this time around with Battier, who mostly guarded Wade, with Alston and Wafer getting some minutes. Today, Wade shot 11-25 for 29 points in 39 minutes. Wade made 4 of 7 three pointers, but since he averages 23.9% behind the arc, this was a rarity for him. In contrast, on Nov. 24, with Artest doing most of the defending, Wade went 7-23 for 23 points in 37 minutes, and went 1-6 in three pointers. So it looks like Battier and Alston did a pretty good job defensively. Plus, outside of Wade and Marion, the Heat's starters was kept to a total of 9 points. (Their PG Chalmers got 0 points.)
If Tracy plays like Wafer regarding following the designed offense, then the team is better with T Mac. If T Mac plays lazily, as he has been known to do, them the team is better with him on the becnh.
Yao, however, did not know he had not missed when he launched that last 17-footer, unsure if some of the rebounds he volley-balled before grabbing had counted as missed tips. "If I knew that, I wouldn’t have taken that shot at the end of the fourth quarter," Yao said. gotta love yao's sense of humor.
"I forced him (Wade) to shoot the jumper over me. He kept yelling I was too little. So on the other end, I knew he might have been too slow to stay in front of me." and this from our beloved rafer. gotta love the spirit.
