Yeah, that Doug Christie call was terrible at the end. But I'm sick of watching Vlade flop. I think he's worse than Malone and Stockton combined.

It's ironic that Utah is playing Sac, the team whose players and fans cry the most about the refs.

Maybe I'm mellowing, but I didn't see Utah getting anymore favorable calls then Sacramento was getting. Screw Chris Webber, after the way he trashed the Rockets I'll be rooting for his demise in the playoffs.

    And Rocks,

Man, I'm seriously glad the Rockets did not get chris webber. That guy is a choker. When Webber got the ball late he could not do anything against Ostertag and lost the ball out of bounds. And then he misses one of two fts to give the jazz yet another chance. I prefer finishers on my team.

I know you guys hate the jazz but that shot Stockton made that bounced straight up was looked at every angle and it clearly views that ball would have went in the hole with the ball grazing the inside of the left part of net.

Stockton should chew Scotts ass that was poor communication on jazz's behalf but that ball clearly was going in.

Im going out on a limb here Jazz in 5, Kings look tired.

    Flame away!

Jazz have a great shot at winning 1 and maybe 2 games...

I say this because like Troy said, they came half an inch from winning the game.

I think the Jazz will use this close loss, as a big motivational tool to come out blazing in Game 2. Especially since they came out flat in Game 1. After that, it's up to Utah to survive the inevitable Kings wave of offense.

Also, I think the Jazz might be able to get into the head of a young team like the Kings. Today, the Kings complained on 80% of the possesions about calls and no-calls. This is just Game 1. Imagine how flustered they will be the next few games, as the frustation builds up. Not to mention, once they play in Utah, where they seem to get 90% of the calls, and will play in a rowdy atmosphere.

A few months ago, the Kings were a below .500 road team.

My last reason for thinking Utah can make a series out of this, is that Webber seems to be back to his passive postseason ways.

The fact that Ostertag slowed him down today, makes me wonder what Webber will do. He seems WAY too content to shoot jumpers. Part of the reason the Kings aren't getting the calls, is because they are not the aggresors. Being passive will never lead to getting calls, whether its right or not.

Chris Webber's career averages in 25 postseason games

    20 points
    10 boards
    4.6 assists
    1.6 blocks

Granted, those aren't Hall of Fame playoff numbers, but he's definitely not a "choker" or "passive"

Man, you guys are giving the Jazz WAY too much credit. Kings in three.

    Game 2: Kings 115 Jazz 88

Ya, I'd much rather win 28 games and watch the playoffs from home.

    I'm with Baqui...

just getting to the playoffs would be better than this.

Then you can say the same thing about Karl Malone and the Utah Jazz couldn't you?

It all depends on how you define "choker". My definition of "choker" is failing to perform when there is no pressure on you, like the Oilers/Bills playoff game in '92, or the Suns two semifinal losses against the Rockets in '94 and '95.

I can't stand Karl Malone as much as the next guy, but I don't consider him a choker.

So you would prefer to go to the playoffs knowing that this guy will never lead his team to the championship. I'd rather have the certainty that the Rockets will have a shot at the title with another player, because Webber is not gettin it done.

I disagree with that. Just because Webber puts up big numbers does not mean he is not a choker. he is passive. He settles for too many jumpshots in the playoffs. He rarely comes up with a big basket when his team is tied or trailing with under a minute to go. If Webber wants to settle for jumpshots, he'd better be more consistent at making them, I'm talking Olajuwon-in-his-prime consistent.

As I said, Utah has a great shot at winning Game 2.

    Utah-33
    Sac-22

    Sac is having trouble scoring...

Sorry, I can't help but smile at this one. :)

Regardless of the result, it's great to see "Mr. Clutch" Chris Webber going inside for the baskets when nothing will fall in from the outside... wait... :D If you guys want to dethrone the Lakers, you better hope for the Spurs to come through, or for the Mavs to beat the Kings, because I really don't see this team doing it.
