Come on now - you KNOW that last line was put in by Tracy when Jason got final approval. "Mr. Friedman? Tracy says it all looks fine but he would like you to add this line. Do you have a pen?" Funny!!
Wrong on the kittens. His shots been too off, only hit 1 on 3 attempts. *Doc Rock's reached 500. Congrats on tying our stomaches in knots on 495 of those posts*
Tracy always comes across as articulate in his interviews, not sure why some of you think he's not smart enough to type up a couple paragraphs and hit Submit.
Just teasin'! Let me start out this post like our next President - Barack Obama. "Ok look! A couple of things...first...uh...and I've said this before..." Honestly, I've never heard anything negative about TMAC as a person - ever, other than mentally he can completely drop into a comatose alone state and get DOWN! But as far as him being a good guy and a nice dude, yeah, I've heard he's cool. I mean, he's not Scottie Pippen, for goodness sake. THAT DUDE was a BAD human being - evil, tbqh.
of that I have no doubts. no proof either, but from what I know of athletes, they are: 1) people. they have the same emotions as you, I, or the insecure yet talented employee on your staff. tracy comes across as a sensitive dude who not only needs his ego stroked, but also needs someone to doubt him in order to drive him. I've known cats like that on the court. as soon as you piss them off, truly piss the off, they're gonna crush you. by the same token, leeb, guys like that have a hard time sustaining that drive. once they've proven they're better, the drive diminishes. 2) they're many times incredibly insecure. hey, tmacs not a star when he's at home chillin. he's only a star when someone else recognizes him. "OHHH! that's tmac!!!!! autograph?" so their ear is usually close to the street, so to speak. these cats say they don't read papers or whatever. BS. they're incredibly tied to what's being said about them cuz sometimes they need to be "tmac" and not "tracy lamar mcgrady, jr."
in other news Tracy will be out another 3 weeks because he has carpal tunnel syndrome from typing up all these blogs what else is new
I agree. I think there are issues there, but if he comes back as t-mac and not tracy then these issues will be resolved.
I'm a tracy fan and I don't think he sat there and wrote that. maybe he did. It's nothing against him, it could be a kobe bryant blog or a shane battier blog and i'd think the same thing. I think it's his general thoughts with his approval, but someone else is writing the stuff out. maybe, maybe no.
Tracy, if you read this...suck it up, get in shape, and come back and play within the system, look at Kobe, he finally figured out that others scoring and having the ball is better for the entire team. You are an amazing talent, but only if you apply yourself, stop wasting the gifts that God gave you..... Good luck, and may you come back strong for the Rockets.... DD PS. Let Yao lead, it is his turn.
even doc rocket admitted that tracy has basically been BEGGING for yao (with the way he's telling him to be MVP blah blah blah) to take over the team. hell, he proclaimed that the past 2 years. yao just has to take this team by the throat now and do it. obviously tracy's standing isn't high anymore. its up to yao. the lakers game wasn't a good start in terms of that. he had a great game, but looking at the 4th, he still prefers to defer. that's his personality and there's nothing you are going to do to change it. if yao wants to lead, he could have done that 3 years ago when tracy had his back problems.
He didn't deny bashing Yao to his friends and saying Yao takes too many shots. He just denies an article that could land him out of Houston because Yao is the one guy who could make this happen other than Les Alexander. If a real rift occured between them either Yao or Mcgrady is outta here and my guess is it wont be Yao.
As a rockets fan, I don't really care if there was something going on or not in the locker room. If T-mac is SHOWING SIGNS that he is TRYING to produce what he's getting paid for then i will live with that. A limping T-mac is still better than 3/4 brackets of the nba players simply because of his length and shooting touch. Although i do believe on Mac's writing on his blog, Mac will still need to prove to everyone else that he's trying to help this team. On the other hand, as a rockets fan we should trying our best to be patient and help the rockets when they are going through the tough times. I am sure bashing and doubting are not what the rockets want right now.
I agree 100%. Well put. I think t-mac will come on strong for like a month during the regular season because he's being doubted. But the key will be if he can bring it during the post-season, but not in an ego-centric way. Like he needs to prove how good he is during the playoffs, but forgets that he needs to bring the team up, not his rep.
ideally...IDEALLY...mac would be the facilitator/triple double threat for three quarters, then look to score more in the 4th. that way his teammates are n2 the flow and ready to hit the kerr/paxson dagger. tmac's the only one on this team capable of that role rite now. the "team ball" thing is gr8 when u hv a great team. we havent had that b4 so mac had 2 have it "all on him". now's the year 2 utilize the gifts not only that he has, but that morey has given him. with his mental makeup it can be done. its why you've seen monster playoff performances from him. not just scoring, but passing, boards, and D. the ability and will...in spans like that...is there. the key now is he has the complimenting components to help him win. mac just has 2 get 2 where he can be that triple threat...both physically and mentally. there's time for both. the phys is rehab. the mental is light switch. he'll flip it, if given a chance, because so many think he can't/won't. I'm one of the few believers left, but I'm here. this team - as is - needs mac at his facilitaing/scoring best to win it all. yao can't carry the 4q load. wafer's a good role player. mac has to tie it together though.
There's no way Yao wants TMAC gone. If there's one thing we've learned about Yao throughout his career, it's that he's loyal to his teammates. He believes this team can win as currently constructed, and he's always felt that way - thought that way during the Francis years, and thinks that way now. Don't get me wrong - it's never all roses and kittens in a locker room full of grown men, but that room is solid. This article is empty conjecture.
Tracy McGrady, you dont HAVE to be "T-Mac" Remember, Scott Howard played as himself and won the Pennsylvania high school championship with teamwork, heart and execution. He didnt haven't to turn into Teen Wolf to get it done!
