Houston star Tracy McGrady has vowed that when he returns to the court after sitting out with a sore knee he'll turn around his disappointing season. He will undergo his offseason conditioning regimen over the next two weeks in an effort to improve his play. "I think it's a very important decision," McGrady said. "It's been a tough season, my toughest season. You anticipate the season coming off a disappointing playoffs, not having our big man, again exiting out of the first round. So you get those additions with Ron (Artest) and the other guys we added to this team. That anticipation builds up. "It wasn't my normal offseason. It wasn't my normal training camp. It's been tough physically and mentally. I didn't have the offseason I normally have to prepare for the season. "I tried to go out and play on one leg. This league is too good. Me trying to get our team off to a good start kind of hurt me a little bit and maybe put our team somewhat in a funk. "I'm going to bust my butt to try to get back." -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Something we already know.....
I said awhile back how do you expect tmac to get better if hes getting weaker. But now that hes back on the weights I'm pretty sure we will see much better results but dont expect it right away when he comes back in 2 weeks but do expect progress
At this point, I believe it when I see it. I really hope he deliver because the team need him if we want any chance at a championship.
When the hate rains, it pours. I've lost confidence in the guy, but I haven't seen this much flooding of hate since Hurricane Steve I.
Exactly, i don't get why people don't see this, if you noticed when McGrady was playing he never took layups on the right side of the hoop or did anything that involved him jumping off his left knee, he basically did play with one leg, but if/when he comes back with strength in that knee he will be a different player, he'll have explosiveness. When was the last time you actually saw Mcgrady go through a season without dunking, never. It's because of his knee, everyone seems to think he's quitting on the team blah blah, but i really think he'll come back and show us what he's really about
He doesn't know when to stop and shut da F up does he? This is like him saying he will get us out the first round again. I doubt two weeks will do that much for him. We shall see when he comes back.
TBH, I don't even care if T-Mac comes back in two weeks or not. His contract is untradable, and there's no point anyway because we need his salary to come off the books for the big 2010 offseason. IMO, T-Mac just needs to pull a Shaq, treat the regular season as his offseason, come back in March, and try to play up to potential in the postseason. If not, well, we're screwed anyways.
I suppose the regular season, where you determine what position you'll be in the playoffs or even in the playoffs at all, doesn't matter?...
It wont make a difference with our team this year, as long as we avoid the Lakers and Spurs (# 1 and 2).
So, with McGrady playing less than half of the regular season, you expect the Rockets to get at least the 6th seed in the West? Past that, you think the Rockets have a chance of winning a championship out of say, the 6th seed, when no team in the history of the NBA has won a title below the 5th seed?
