I think the Rockets weren't too happy with his performance in the D-League. Maybe he did better more recently. With Mutombo and now Chuck Hayes getting minutes, it will be tough for Dorsey to get any playing time unless we have an injury (or its a major blowout). Dorsey is a long term project, though. We have him for a cheap, and we have him for a number of years. Let's not write him off too hastily. He may turn out to be a contributor next season.
Agree, he has next season written all over him. Currently he is a human foul machine, he has no jumper and can't shoot free throws. With his lack of experience he's probably a liability for the rockets right now. I do think he has some upside though.
I think a lot of us are a little disappointed in Dorsey based on Morey's post-draft comments that he was "NBA ready". Like durvasa said though, it's too early to give up on him unless he is part of a trade that brings in something clearly better.
Agree, Morey was also down on Landry after the summer league passed and look what happened. I personally have had plantar fasciitis and it so damn painfull, I feel for the guy because that injury takes some time to heal.
if i can hear correctly before the start of the game yesterday they said they were looking forward to playing him (not last in last nights game though) since so many players are injured but he in injured too. so maybe after he takes that boot off we might see something if not he and head will be traded together. probably.
Landry is truly amazing. Knowing the injury will reduce his explosiveness, he added a nice jumper that extend up to 18 foot. He just wants to get better regardless the situation. Honestly i really believe the Rockets are top 2 in the matters of talents. We have a European MVP at PF who has already shown his success against the elite of USA during the Olympics. Two top class talent in Yao and T-mac. A unique player in Tru Warrior who can both sparks the offense and a top defender in the game. Along with Batman who can stretch the floor and defend anyone. Two great Draft picks in Carl and AB who are proven to be the cornerstones of the whole puzzle. On top of that, we picked up VON FIRE who surpassed EVERYONE'S EXPECTATION. Like many of us have said already, we are top 3 across the whole league on the book. I am really looking forward to see this team to have a nice run int he postseason IF everyone's healthy. Don't doubt the heart of the champions!
I think Dorsey has "never" written all over him. He's not good enough or smart enough for the NBA. I doubt he gets much better.
Who cares? He is miles away from being an NBA player. I thought that was obvious when he was drafted. Please stop comparing him to Hayes or Landry. He doesn't have half of Chucks defensive skill or basketball smarts and he doesn't have anywhere near Landry's offensive skills. I know, I know. It's so much easier when you can do this: He's strong and has big muscles = he will be better than Hayes at defense He can jump high = he will be a better dunker thus a better scorer than Landry
2 years guaranteed. And two more with team options. So effectively, if we want him, we can have him for 4 years at under 1 million per.
No buddy, unless the sources I checked were all flawed? No options team or player after the 2 years. hoopshype si sportscity nba2k9 (your gonna laugh but they got updated everyday rosters including contracts) ok belay that I found a site that had one hoopsworld and shamsports well alrighty then, good lookings because i was wondering why he wouldnt have that errr why we wouldnt have those options
