I ran into this cute girl today, who I shared a couple of classes with last semester, while on my way to my Sociology class. She spotted me first and was all like "Hey Oscar!" I've had a big crush on her since the day I met her and I had the perfect oppurtunity to ask her out right there. In my mind, I had decided to ask her to meet me for dinner, but my mouth was all "uhhh, uhhhh, hey, uhhh, it's good see you." Doh! Yep, I said it, "it's good see you." Anyway, she just gave me that puzzled look, then blind sided me with small talk and walked away. All I could say was "see ya." Any other BBS members have one of those moments before. It would be comforting to know I'm not the only one.
Sorry to hear about your vocal improvisations. Don't think that you are out of luck, though. If she talked to you, she'll probably do it again. Just walk up to her and ask her out. This coming from the guy who could NEVER do that when he was dating. That's me, by the way.
Take some solace in the fact that Chandler Bing eventually married Monica Gellar, once she aged a good eight years in 18 months.
I'm having these moments every MWF. There's this cute soccer girl that I am in love with, and not in love like I wanna have sex with her, but like I want to get to know her. She gives me signs, but they aren't clear enough. I wish she would ask me out. Do girls even ask guys out?
that kind of thing happens to me about 80 million times a day. not just once in a while. i try to tell myself to be patient and one of those oppurtunities ill get it right... you just cant over think those situations. thats my problem. i think so much about what to say, and i analyze everything so much, that i end up deciding everything i could say would be stupid. so basically, i can only say stuff to girls when im drunk and cant think. and that really doesnt work either. anyway... chandler bing is really fat now. and hes not as funny as when he lived with joey. in my opinion that show went downhill when they hooked him up with monica. they should have just stuck with off and on ross and rachel. and left joey and chandler as roomates. i went downstairs in my dorm today. and some girl was walking into the "workout room". and she was so so so perfect. i had never seen her before. brunette, beautiful eyes. i just sighed and went back up to my room. i fall in love about 30 times a day just walking down the damn street and i never do anything about it. SOMEDAY WE WILL.
I totally agree. Stop being such a p***y and go after the women. Women like men that are confident and somewhat take control. I dont mean be controllinga and or arrogant but at least have the balls to ask them out. There are a million women out there and you have to look at it like you were in sales. You may get a lot of no's but eventually you will get some yes'. Don't take it personally, if they don't want to go out with you then who cares. If they dont want to go out with you and you REALLY want to go out with them then change their mind. Flowers, little notes, and stuff like that always works. Be persistant but not stalking. I did anything I could to be close to my wife such as picking her up from her college classes, went to IHOP where she was working, and always had flowers for her or a little note saying I enjoyed her and stuff like that. Be romantic and women will fall all over you. Trust me, it isnt because I am so good looking. Doing anything is better than whining on the BBS about how big of a wuss you are. Go get her.
Been there a thousand times, but I've also shown some courage to. You just have to go for it. Sometimes you lose, but those are the stories you remember. I've accidentally asked out women who were engaged. It happens. One time I got rejected three times, by the same woman, in less than 1 hour. She did some research on me before the day was up, and we ended up on a date and it lasted 2 years. You just never know what is going to happen. That's why you just go for it. At worst, they are flattered all day. They will still say hello to you afterward most of the time. Just like you would do.
Hey gents. Who do you think these ladies are waiting for? Oski, She might have noticed your nerve attack and thinks it was cute...you'll never know if you shy away. Don't blow it out of proportion. A little anxienty isn't a bad thing, but don't let it rule you. When you see her again, think about becoming her friend and not as a possible date, and maybe you'll relax enough to feel comfortable around her. If that won't work for you, come up with some other way to relax and be yourself. Another relaxation technique: have confidence that things will work out the way they were meant to. You're the only Oski2005 on the planet. If you happen to be her soulmate, she'd be in a bad way to if you shy off. Guys in general freak when they see a pretty face and body. Why? For guys, it starts with looks (we never seem to learn that some pretty packages are really filled with pure hell ) . For the superior sex, other factors come in to serious play also at the start...maybe humor, wit, confidence, honesty, intelligence... The key: is over-used but just relax and be yourself
Guys, Beautiful girls are just as nervous about the whole dating thing as men are. Just start a conversation, ask her out nicely and treat her with respect. DaDakota
You don't have to go for the gold the first time out. Just strike up a conversation and keep it brief. When it's over, she'll wonder where you went because most guys are hanging around panting like the dogs they are! Next time you see her, it will be easier and she may even be more appreciative of your gentlemanliness.
