I've been dry for 3 years now. Sometimes, I have a relapse and put the install disc in my DVD drive, but I always stop myself before clicking "install". Ugh, I need to call my WoW sponsor.
i used to be compulsive player for the first 2.5 years it was out then had a relapse...except when i relapsed i just played on an illegal server so I got everything in one day and was bored with it.
Why do boring repetitive tasks for fake money in a video game when I can do boring repetitive tasks in real life for real money?
http://board.clutchfans.net/showthread.php?t=146644 he has a found a job a couple of months ago. Still plays the warcrack after work pretty much everyday til like 1 am (and i still dont get how he has enough energy to be awake when he needs to leave the house at 7 in the morning). Funny thing too, he bought a 360 pro system, a few recent title releases, MS wireless adapter, and a play and charge kit (basically about 600 bucks worth 360-related items). He only really plays it for like when he has friends come over and thats only like 3 or 4 times since he has it. So really the 360 just sits there collecting dust... Just sad sad.
I must have quit just in time. I tried playing the game for about two hours and didn't understand it, so I gave it to someone else.
Really no reason to get so defensive...he said his fiancee's brother plays 16 hours a day. If you dont think there is something wrong with that picture, then you are part of the problem. 19 year olds need to develop, socially, educationally, physically, mentally, etc...spending the majority of your days in front of a computer is not healthy, no matter how you want to defend it. Now, playing a couple hours a day...fine.
I quit a while back before the last expansion. I am playing Lord of the Rings online at a much slower pace. I have a liftetime subscription, so the addiction to play is muuuuuch lower. I log on when I feel like playing, log off knowing I'm not wasting my month's subscription. Besides, WoW was getting to be very annoying with the general population being very immature.
You got defensive about it...go read my post and thats what I said. If you didnt get so defensive about it, you wouldnt have gone off listing all of your credentials, accomplishments, etc... Nobody asked for it, but you felt obligated to let everyone know about it. Thats called being defensive and thats what I said in my original post. Its actually the first line of it...put down WoW for a second and reread it. Thanks.
You have to buy the game and then pay a monthly subscription. They really bend you over. But all that money is spent on constantly upgrading the game, adding new content, hosting hundreds of servers supporting millions of players, and 24 hour in game support.
Good. I hope you enjoy it. The developers spent a lot of time and energy into developing such a massive game with a story thats equally on par.
