I don't think he said that either, but I do think he is starting to let the media know he is unhappy with Tracy's effort. Give a 110% or GTFO is the message -- Yao is frustrated and out of options to motivate Tracy.

He wants him out, probably means until he is ready to go.

He's definitely pissed about it and he has every right to be.

That's different than wanting him gone though.

Amen, awesome post gree with everything.

As for the Yao comments, I call BS, totally out of character for YAo to say this. If he did say these comments it was probably out of context.

    The article says:
It says Yao wants him out and then goes straight into McGrady's move-ability scenarios.
The article straight makes it mean its about him being gone from the team...

Doesnt mean YAO said it, which I'm semi-doubting. But there's GREAT pressure on Yao too. And I'm sure he feels his window is closing, feels terrible for letting the team down with past injuries. Felt he did what he had to do to come back stronger than ever. Then sees his counterpart who's supposed to be going for the SAME goals letting himself go...wherever his mind and laziness wanders.

You already don't have any respect towards Yao Ming so why we should take whatever you said seriously?

Why do I always get the feeling that the media always seem to make bad situations much worse than they appear?

It's because they profit from it.

Look how quickly this page boomed from a simple statement that probably wasn't even said. Give me a break.

This information spreads to Tracy and maybe some other players. Then things escalate some more and players start saying things directly to the media.

Then the big news stories start to begin. They can talk for 3-4 days about T-Mac being traded on ESPN and NBATV.

It's all fiction. Don't believe everything you read, even if it is somewhat of a semi-credible source.

So, what you're saying is this. If in the previous years, you were the second best player on a team, then you cannot, in ANY circumstance, share the sentiments of the entire organization about moving the best player on the team in previous years, while other players of even less influence can do so simply because they weren't part of the media-hyped (and artificially anointed) "superstar tandom."

    If true, that's really disappointing.

Honestly, I doubt Yao said anything to the organization or Tmac. Secondly, Tmac has carried this team when Yao's had injuries after injuries. However, Centers usually do get injured more often (Bynum, Oden, Shaq, etc...) and Yao's had his share of injuries. The only thing is, his injuries are unquestioned while Tmac's injuries are questionable.

Injuries like back spasms are pretty much day to day and now his knee is thought of as a joke to the rest of the league. You should hear the Lakers' announcers talk about Tmac's injury, it's pretty embarrasing. Tmac had the surgery in the off season and it's like middle of the regular season right now and he wants to go back to off-season conditioning?

This was the year for Tmac, to prove to everyone that his series of first round exits are nothing but a myth. Either he's taking the team for granted or he's unmotivated. Hopefully after his 2 week break, he can come back and play like a contender.

Lets see, the (1) the person is plugged in with the Yao/McGrady situation, (2) talks to the media, (3) possibly have something to gain from making the dissension public, and getting the team in a little trouble...

    Hmm...

JVG would never do such a thing, even if he does work for the media now.

He loves the Rockets too much.

With the games that tmac has missed this season, he is usually not on the bench. That sends a message.

With the games that Artest has missed this season, he is usually on the bench. That sends a message.

I want things to work out for the Rox and anything can happen in the second half of the season, but in order for that to happen, tmac must recommit himself to the team, after he recommits to his "conditioning."

Bingo! I feel for you RocketMac - you obviously hate Yao and I'm okay with that. But when you find out what Tracy's been doing to Yao, the things he's said, talking down to him, pointing out his flaws, what he needs to work on, what he needs to be a MVP, what he needs to do to others, etc... he talks AT Yao and now he pulls this - taking off two weeks? He's a joke. Morey didn't send him down - Tmac took a vacation - - again! There is NO CODE IN THIS POST!

Look, this will come out in spades one day. But for all of you who think this article is BS - it isn't. You don't HAVE to tell your boss you're tired of how he treats you, you can tell others in casual conversation and you can WANT him out. So what? Making Yao out to be some kind of badguy here is a freaking joke. Yao is the first one at practice, on and off the bus, to and from the arena - he's HEAD AND HEELS above a guy like TMac who can't stop b!tching about Yao and Adelman and ARTEST - the new leaders.

You want to blame Yao Ming for this crap? That's the stupidest thing I've ever heard in my life. And I never said they were TRADING TMac - I said that they WERE and maybe still ARE trying to do something to the East and to the North. One particular deal was 'discussed'...FACT!

Don't make mistakes so stupidly as to say that Yao Ming is doing something wrong. He may not be your idea of an All-Star center or the next 34 but he's the best thing on this team and every GM and coach and player and team president and scout and referee and Stern and every scrub in the D-League will say the same thing. Yao's contribution to this team makes TMac's look like piss in a pot.

Wait until the stories come out about Tmac's rehab. Yao never missed A SINGLE DAY in rehab and was NEVER, NOT ONCE even a single minute late! He does whatever he's asked...and now T-Douche has asked too many times for Yao to 'Be a MAN and DUNK IT!' He IS a man no matter what the (&^** you think, RocketMac! You don't know $hi+ about Yao Ming.

    Buh-leeve THAT!

    "He's coMING!" circa 2002

This is bs, I mean wouldn't Chron or someone here know anything about this before David Freaking Aldrige? I don't think this is true.
