Intresting clip on the Nba all star voting(talking about tmac)

So how do you reward a player's contribution to his team when it is sandwiched between to ASGs? McGrady played extremely well the second half of the season, so just because he's off to a bad start he shouldn't be recognized?

But seriously, what is the All Star Game to players? If they want recognition, win the MVP. The fans vote for who they would like to see the most, and maybe this year is the last year fans will be able to see McGrady and Kobe be in the same lineup. McGrady's "injury" in '06 didn't stop him from putting on a good show, so maybe the fans hope he'll do something cool this year.

That being said, I don't think McGrady should be in it, he could probably use the rest.

 

McGrady, no matter which way you look at it, does not deserve an All-Star spot, but there are tons of players who've made the team in previous years that didn't deserve it (cough..Yao's first couple of trips..cough), so it's not exactly setting a precedent.

All this proves is the there are still alot of people who watch the NBA that like TMac. And lots of those people probably live in China.

 

This is another problem with this board now. I don't agree with everything DD says, I have my moments with ibm and bimathug, but its always about respect. I don't know what happened or exactly when it started, but someone should have the ability to disagree without being called names?

 

I agree, something about her is particularly annoying, another reason NBA TV went down the drain.

I liked the good days of Peter Vecsey with his snide comments, Fred Carter, Gail Goodrich and Frank Isola.

 

You do raise a good point about rewarding performance that comes at the end of a season, after an All Star Game, but in McGrady's case I don't think those 30 games at the end of last year nearly make up for a subpar (much less "sub All Star") 30 games so far this year.

 

It's really simple. Point blank common sense. T-Mac doesn't obviously belong in the All Star game. It's as simple as that and anybody who thinks otherwise is either:
A) Has no knowledge about the game of basketball
B) Is a T-Mac fanatic

 

The problem is the voting system, they should change it so that it is just not a popularity contest anymore.

 

Everyone has varying opinions, why are you over-reacting? Often DD just jumps on the bandwagon, but if you think calling him names for his opinions is more intelligent than by all means continue.

 

I would agree if the same circumstances were in place as last year--no Yao, no brooks, rookie landry (now has more experience) etc.

I don't like it as much like I used to before either. There trying too hard to be like what the Inside The NBA guys are on TNT. Webber and Payton are pretty annoying as well. Maybe that's just me.

 

What's the point of the fan voting system if the fans aren't going to see who they want to see?

Seriously man you need to calm down. I understand that you don't agree with what everyone is saying but calling somebody out and then telling them to get a life doesn't really solve anything. It actually makes you look a little immature. You have to remember we are all cheering for the same team, and even though we might all have different opinions this type of conflict needs to be avoided. lighten up

It is true that McGrady DOESN'T deserve to be in the starting lineup due to injuries and sloppy game. People think that he's not playing hard but yet he's still selected because major number of fans are not watching everyday games.

But it's a fans game, nothing special, glad to see that are so many Yao and McGrady fans out there.

 

Im sorry for my last post, but i was suppressing my feelings about DD for too long.

It had to come out someday.

And I am really suprised that it took me so long to express what I think.
