I'd kill to have Crabtree opposite Andre Johnson.

    EDIT: well said, the futants.
Why only those adjectives if that happens? Why be so negative, man? Please don't let me lose what respect i have for you, SeƱor Pun.

Do you think people thought it was FUNNY or SAD when my Texans drafted Andre Johnson? Look at us now. I hope the best for Crabtree.

    Both.

Crabtree is going to be a great WR in the NFL. But the lions can't possible be dumb enough to think that another WR is going to make any bit of difference coming off of 0-16. Yeah, they'd have 2 of the best young WR's in the game with no one to throw it to them...and no one to protect whoever that qb is...and no one on defense to get the ball back for them.

Luckily for them, Matt Millen is no longer an employee.

Curious my ass. You're looking for a way to bash Vince and UT while making Tech look good.

    This is r****ded.

Okay looks like hes gone. Good for him. He was the main difference b/w Techs previous teams. He should be a great pro much better than VY but of course its 50-50 for crabtree and probaly a 10% chance VY can rebound...

Hopefully Jeff Blakes son can step in and be a dominant college reciever like Crabs

    http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/draft09/news/story?id=3821753

Texas Tech wide receiver Michael Crabtree is expected to announce at a 3 p.m. ET news conference on Tuesday that he will enter the NFL draft, two people close to Crabtree said Friday.

Crabtree had an ankle specialist determine that his high ankle sprain was properly diagnosed and treated. Crabtree is expected to attend the NFL scouting combine but is not expected to run a 40-yard dash.

More likely, Crabtree will run at his own pro day. Crabtree has visited with Texas Tech coach Mike Leach twice already and will visit with him once more before the planned news conference.

Leach has mentioned the possibility of the receiver returning to win a Heisman, but Crabtree, 6-foot-3, 214 pounds, has been told by multiple sources, including the NFL draft advisory committee, that he would be a first-round pick.

Crabtree had 93 catches and 18 touchdowns in the regular season, averaging 94.6 yards per game. He won the prestigious Biletnikoff Award for the nation's top receiver.

Crabtree, a draft-eligible sophomore, also won the award last season.

I'm not the one who started yet another thread with Vince Young in the title, was I?

After 150 threads on VY's greatness, INCLUDING a new one today, I decided to ask a simple question. But I do find it hilarious that some of you are offended.

One went to Tech and will likely be a stud Rookie wide receiver.

The other was at UT and was drafted 3 years ago and has struggled in the NFL and he plays a completely different position.

You're comparing apples to oranges and even that's a stretch.

It doesn't take a genius to figure out the point you're trying to make.

the tim tebow/vince young comparison is very legitimate, and the topic is relevant. you sound like a baby, there hasn't been a vince young thread in a while considering his troubles other than a few "we won the draft" threads.

and I don't blame texan fans for rubbing it in considering the flack the franchise caught for passing on bush/vy but seriously, besides today, there hasn't been a great vy thread in probably at least a year, so you're the one who looks like he's a sensitve offended fan.

This is such a trick question. OBVIOUSLY the answer is "Mankind" or "Hulk" or whatever other cute names the O-linemen for Tech like to call themselves. I think the most creative nicknames they came up with were the ones after the OU and Ole Miss games. You know, fresh names like "sieve," "swiss cheese," and "leaky faucet."

Crabtree. I'm a Falcons fan and we already got Matt Ryan.

Why the comparison though? Two different positions and one is already in the NFL while the other hasn't even got drafted yet.

Given that i'm a Steelers fan, Crabtree by a mile. VY isn't even Kordell Stewart good yet. I say "yet" cautiously since VY is a headcase and probably doesn't have the upside many thought he did. Will he work hard or will he sulk and feel sorry for himself? Right now he's damaged goods that nobody can count on.

Somebody needs to sit him down and explain, "Vince, clearly you thought all you had to do was show up. The NFL isn't the NCAA's where you can get away with that. No longer are you guaranteed to be the fastest, most athletic player on the field. Playing QB in the NFL requires a tireless work ethic and dedication to improving yourself, discovering the ability to read defenses and possessing some form of leadership ability. Right now you have none of that. Are you willing to work hard to improve or should we just leave you on suicide watch?"

Sorry to all the VY fans but that's the honest truth as I see it. For the record, I agree the comparison is rather useless. Still, VY is a sad story of wasted talent/potential and that bothers me as a football fan.
