I'd say the purpose of the shoulder can be similar. If you "stun" the player by using your shoulder, his movement will be impeded a lot more than if you just stand in the way. If I was playing and someone set a regular, standing pick...I'd do my best to slide around it, spin, whatever was necessary to follow my man. But if I get a shoulder dropped into me, I'm obviously going to be stopped for a sec or 2 at the least before continuing on. So I wouldn't say the actual intent was neccessarily to hurt someone as much as gain that 1-2 second advantage for the shot (only KG knows that I guess)
Well, considering Kevin Garnett learned from messing with the Antonio McDyesses of the NBA, I don't think he'd even try to do that to Kirilenko (even if AK is a string bean). He'll probably just continue to try to pick on those 6'5 and below.
Once again, Garnet picks on a scrub. You will NOT see him do that against anyone Artest, Kobe, etc. I'm tired of his "tough guy" wannane attitude. I'd pop him in the face if he did that to me.
good luck! did u see the way he backed away from mcdyess? hope u've got a good reach, because he backpeddles like a mofo.
Garnett did a similar play today when playing against the bobcats. I am really hating the attitude of the Celtics nowadays.
KG is such a spazz. It was funny watching him try to back down Hayes just now on back to back plays and not even move him one inch.
Douche bag of the 08-09 Season Award goes to the cheap, dirty, chaotic, spazz himself: Kevin Garnett.
that was amazing d by chuck. i kept yelling give kg the ball, give him the ball, just to watch him stand in the same spot and shoot a jumper with a hand on his face. after that he quit trying to back hayes down and i dont think he scored another point for the rest of the game.
I didn't watch many wolves games before, so I never really saw KG's antics. I do admit, I really don't like the attitude of KG or Boston as a team.
