nice video v3.0 i remember watching that over and over and over and than listening to it over and over and over again on the day they were being recognized
on a side note...i love to play this game whenever there's footage of jazz fans..."spot the black guy"...
It would have been funny if each ref assumed another ref blew the whistle and they awarded free throws to the Warriors.
That's some bull**** from the fans, not the team. I guess you can get pretty desperate when your favorite team in the world has 0 titles to their name, but regular season against the Warriors? Lame.
I don't know how you can say it's not cheating. They should have disallowed the basket and restarted the clock from the moment it blew. Yes, that's the refs decision on how they handle it but it's still cheating. What if this were a one point game in the playoffs and they beat us with crap like that... is it cheating then?
Yeah, you gotta love how while everyone is waiting to see what the refs are going to do Okur and Korver think it's a fast break opportunity. That's not outsmarting or playing better than anyone, they just got lucky because of their classless fans.
What would you have said if someone did this during a Rockets game against the Jazz? In the playoffs? Absolutely classless. The Jazz seem to be the only team willing to overlook the dishonor with which they have attained the success they do have. No other fan would value a win unfairly obtained. We want to win by the rules because then no one can dispute your accomplishment.
I laughed so hard when I saw this: http://www.chron.com/disp/story.mpl/editorial/outlook/6191901.html Houston Chronicle, Jan 2, 2009 (letter to the editor) Complaint against Rockets fans On Dec. 27, the Utah Jazz played against the Houston Rockets. It was a double overtime game, very close and both teams played very well. As you know, Houston won, and earned it. Our comment here is not to complain about the game, but fan behavior. We watched the game on TV, and nowhere have we ever heard fans behave so terribly — chanting that Utah sucks for a matter of several minutes. That took away a lot of our respect for Houston Rockets fans. After both teams played such a brilliant game, the fans displayed boorish behavior. We hope Utah Jazz fans never act that terribly. GARY and CHRIS HILFIKER West Valley City, Utah ------------------------
You guys should know that it wasn't a Jazz fan that blew the whistle. It wasn't even the guy in the refs shirt. It was a Warriors fan upset that the Warriors weren't getting the calls he thought they should get. The fan in the refs shirt was automatically blamed but he didn't have the whistle. The Warriors fan had to give up the whistle or be ejected.
Gary and Chris must not go to many Jazz games. I'm not a loud fan. I want to sit and clap if the Rockets play well. Whenever I would watch the Jazz in SLC thier fans would yell stuff at me and whomever I was with. They hit my wife with a piece of pizza in game 3 two years ago. I turn around and some obese woman is laughing at us. To make matters worse the Rockets didn't even show up in that game. Some day I'll have my revenge. I'll have to hand it to them; they have the best home court advantage in the league. The Jazz get away with murder there. On the road in Minnesota? Not getting those calls.
I get harassed as well when I see the Rockets in SLC but it's nothing that I don't expect. I haven't had anything too extreme happen to me, and I'm a rather loud fan. Last game I went to (game 3 in the playoffs last year) almost the entire section tried to get me kicked out by saying I was throwing popcorn at everyone when I hadn't purchased anything from the concession stand. A couple Jazz fans next to me stood up for me and told the ushers I had done nothing wrong. I was quite surprised. I've been to several NBA arenas and I can honestly say that Utah has by far the best home crowd. Sometimes they act like idiots but there's not another arena in the league where the fans are into a game more than the ESA. I wish all Rockets fans could experience a Rockets/Jazz game in SLC...especially when we win. Not a greater feeling in the world than seeing 20,000 idiots silent with their heads down as they leave the arena.
the best part of the clock incident is the one shot the jazz actually get off. tom chambers with like the ugliest shot in history. even with all that extra time that was the best they could do. and how did the refs not blow the whistle in the warriors game anyway? sure looked like a foul to me.
