What do you mean? If AP votes another team other than Florida #1, then there are split National Champions.

y'all almost beat them as bad as west virginia. this is OU in a big game we're talking about, don't hold that against the big xii.

plus, as glad as i was that they happened, i'm guessing letting ou get down to the 5 yard line several times a game isn't going to result in 0 points too often. florida's offense which crushed the SEC got held down much of the night as well.

but who cares, ou lost, and that's all that is important.

so florida beats ou by 10 on a neutral field, they get the title. we do it, we're probably going to be ranked like 5th or something. sounds fair.

Totally. Those guys were awful. There lead NFL groups are better.

Stoops was like this all year long. His arrogant coaching attitude (going for 4th downs against lesser squads) routinely bites them when the going gets tough.

Great defensive athletes and a blitzing game plan smacking around a previously pass happy spread teams.

Florida has a pretty high octane offense and they have done well in the SEC. But the key is balance--not getting pass happy.

Overall it was clear who was the superior team was, but much credit to the OU oline and defense for really bringing it.

;) if we take care of all business we should get our shot next year. As a Texas fan I wouldn't be scared of playing them at all.

Urban isn't as arrogant on Stoops, at least the way he coaches and treats officials and such. Urban is the best all around coach right now--the most prepared.

I agree the Tebow stuff is blown a little out of proportion. What is really crazy is the talk about him winning two national titles, it is almost as ludicres (yes I know he was in a handful of plays, but Leak was their QB) as giving Colt credit for Texas national title as a freshman redshirt carrying a notepad. But then so was Bradford and the Sooners offense before this game--leading to another Jason White/Gino Torreta type system Heisman winner.

The Heisman should have gone to McCoy, a better passer than Tebow and better improviser/runner than Bradford. McCoy had no where near the talent as those other two, yet ran his teams offense just about as well and came through every time his offense needed a play.

Agreed on him being a great coach. He just comes across as sort of pompous and arrogant, IMO. Plus, my buddy is an autograph collector and he's told me stories how he's quite the jerk off camera.

This is the same song and dance. Longhorns fans aren't going to hear anything but McCoy this and "we got screwed" that. It's understandable. I'd be thinking the same thing if I were a UT fan.

All i'm saying is as an impartial college football fan I feel Tebow is the best player with numbers good enough to satisfy the "most outstanding player" arbitrary criteria they use to define the Heisman. I understand the argument for McCoy and he's just as deserving. I'm not saying he's not. Tebow still gets my "vote" though and I still think this is your classic example of the Heisman hopeful that probably should have won beating the actual winner. I know you don't want to hear that but again, just my opinion.

As for Bradford, i'll echo my praise from earlier. I thought he was impressive tonight. Especially for a sophomore. Plenty are making him out to be just another Jason White - and maybe he is - but tonight I thought he played good enough for them to win. Those two picks arguably weren't really his fault and he showed tremendous poise in the pocket. He never got rattled. OU's undoing was the Stoops-esque squandered goal line drive. OU was in position to take command of that game up until that happened. That sequence alone altered the course of the game and drastically tipped the momentum in Florida's favor, IMO.

Neither of these teams were as good as UT and USC.

    The BCS needs to go....

I believe it has something to do with the land rush, people that left early before the big cannon shot or boom....were called Sooners.

So, basically, a boomer sooner is a cheater....
