We'd have to give up Griffin. Or Francis... Det would be foolish to take anyone else but those 2 for Wallace. Wallace has cemented himself as an untouchable player. Meaning that he can only be traded for another untouchable.

Mutombo has been a defensive force for nearly a decade he's old now but he's still a top 5 shot blocker

Defensive players of the year aren't generally traded, especially when they're under contract for several more years at a reasonable price ($6 million per). About the only way we could get him is if Detroit had serious first round problems. They obviously need some offensive help, but it would take a lot to get Wallace from them. I'd probably trade our first pick for him since we need a C so badly, but they probably wouldn't do it. He's very much off the block.
Detroit would be out of their minds to trade Wallace now. Our pick and Kenny, Mo or anyone outside of Francis or Griffin won't work. They already have a scoring machine at SG, so they don't need Cuttino.
I don't think the Pistons would take Francis or Griffin. Wallace anchors the defense and hauls down rebounds there, and at a cheap price too. Wallace is a good fit for Detroit.
Dreaming for Ben Wallace might be too unrealistic. Yes, he is what the Rockets need, a defensive minded burly big man. But no, Detroit won't give up their best player. Maybe, the Rockets ought to try inquiring about Lawrence Funderburke or Scott Pollard. Did you see the last or second to the last game of Sacramento? Although these guys play second fiddle to Chris Webber, someone the Rockets could have pursued, they can play nonetheless, given enough minutes. But ultimately, no matter what talent the Rockets roster will look like, if Rudy T. doesn't change his way of using the talent (Francis and Griffin), I think the Rockets' play will continue to be predictable - lots of one-on-one plays.
