It's obvious that the knicks are trying to clear space for the summer of 2010...if that's a good plan is not the point. But let's help them and help ourselves. Looking at their roster, Jeffries Galinari and Chandler are signed/will exercise their player options for 2010 or later. Galinari is hurt and is an unknown for the most part. However, Jeffries and Chandler are interesting players. Jeffries at 6'11 and 230 can cover four positions. I think he would be a good fit rolling to the rim with Tmac and finishing like hayes could only dream of. also, he'd be a good pair with yao since he's so long and fast to cover for yao's slownesss of foot. Chandler can attack the rim and posseses great athletic ability. I think we could get Jeffries relatively easily. Perhaps Head and Hayes plus filler for Jefferies and draft pick, since we are doing them a great service by eating the contract. That would be a good move for us IMO.

    Thoughts?

I like Chandler but not Jeffries.

Chandler is too liked by D'Antoni though.

Up until this point I thought you were talking about trading T-Mac for the garbage mentioned above. Sadly, that's how low his trade value is at this point.

if we take eddie curry, they'll deal with us. same with jefferies.

    how about

    Eddie Curry
    David Lee
    Jared Jefferies
    Wilson Chandler

    for

    Tracy Mcgrady

maybe a throw in, like head?

Everyone right now is "selling low, buying high". People, that's a recipe for being a non-contender for years, better known as pretenders.

The right time to trade tracy is when a better option presents itself, not for a bag of chips. Then you will have no chance at a championship as currently constructed and then in the future you will still be upset that you made a dumb move.

You either trade him for a Lebron/Wade/Kobe (not happening) or wait him out 'til the 2010 summer when you can go for broke trying to get someone of worth.

please, a taker for curry? jefferies sucks. so does curry. both are gonna be on the books come 2010. chandler might be a bit much, but tracy helps them put people in seats until 2010, and he might not be so bad semi-healthy in d'antoni's system.

how do you propose we get a max contract signing here in 2010 and still sign ron artest, von wafer, luis scola, luther head, and rafer? maybe we don't resign ron, tank a year, and don't resign any of those. do you think a big name would even consider coming here?

I don't think the Knicks would trade their young hungry talent players such as Lee or Chandler for Tmac.
Besides, Tmac is a half-court player, how is he going to fit into D'antonie's offense? Tmac is going to break his knees trying to run so much.

Did you see Eddy Curry out there tonight? He looked like a big fat balloon. Jared Jeffries is a total chump.

If we phoned up Donnie Walsh the conversation from their end would almost certainly start and end with "Marbury for McGrady? No? Okay then, bye".

if we could get rid of hayes and head and get a legitimately-sized and quick/athletic forward as well as a draft pick...i would do that in a heartbeat. jefferies would be a great pickup for our team.

David Lee is the only Knicks player I like, David and Yao can be a perfect pair around the paint. Knicks is not good enough to attract a super star like LBJ. Nets looks much better: Lopez and Yi are playing great basketball already and they have more potentials; Devin Harris is amazing as an individual, Nets will top the East when Harris learns how to control the team tempo and get his teams more involved.

I am pretty sure the Knicks see Chandler as a franchise player type
prospect, or at least a dangerous do it all man.

He is a stat sheet stuffer, and I would love to see him on the Rockets.

    But doubt it.

no no no........the knicks already have enough cap space to sign to big Free agents in 2010...there's no one left to unload........all the guys you want, their contracts are pretty much up by 2010 or they're low paid players as is.

If you can clear cap space for Tmac then i'll do it.

    OR

Get someone as valuable and not a bunch of garbage players.

It's the poor economy. Even our basketball judgement is being affected.

how confident are the knicks in getting 'bron? and what is david lee's contract situation? he's the only player that will fit into this rockets team. i'd even give you hayes.
