On the last skit with Bladwin and Will Farrell, Rachel Drach said referring about a black grandmother:

"Her grandson plays for the Houston Rockets."

Some much deserved props by the SNL peeps...... kinda cool

A not funny skit. Replace "trophy wife" with "trophy elderly black lady."

During a rant from one of the "normal" wives, the exact quote was
"...And I may not have a grandson who plays for the Houston Rockets!"

Nothing to do with anything, and I'm not sure why they chose the Rox. Perhaps one of the writers had read an article on Franchise recently?

I don't know why they mentioned the Rockets, but I remember they had mentioned the Rockets before on another episode. I think they just have decided to use the Rockets when they mention a basketball team that isn't the Lakers or the Celtics.

Did anyone see the SNL episode with Charles Barkley and Mugsy Bogues? Now that was hilarious.

Probably because we're the first team the writers think of when trying to brainstorm an NBA team without any good white guys.

Plus Houston is a city with many minorities.

Good job, RM95. Last night, I was wondering who would post this first.

Maybe because one of their writers, T. Sean Shannon, is from Houston and is a sports fan.
