Something's on Fire Near Downtown (Houston)

    Look out the window if you're close. On the north side of downtown, there is something on fire. I can see flames and smoke all the way from Allen Parkway.

    I saw the smoke from the Westpark Tollway, but I'm not sure where it was coming from.

    OK, thank you rhadamanthus for confirming that I am NOT going crazy. I can still see the flames but it's no longer smoking.

    EDIT: Some of the comments on the chronic's website are hilarious. Man, those people are crazier than us!

    Looks like business as usual to me. I'm in downtown on the 26th floor of 1 Houston Center and the layer of smog looks really bad today.

    FAIL. Channelview is EAST of Downtown. :p

    I am in the northern part of downtown and I can't see anything from here. :( I can confirm what Tommyboy says about the smog.

    I've been watching that all morning out my office window. The flare was huge this morning. It's now pretty small and now putting out any more black smoke
