He was released from Heat today. Should we pick him up? Before he got hurt he was a solid point guard with size.
Link to release article Lock mine up please. I would sign him to a 10 day contract, get a look at one point he was a nice young PG. DD
Imagine a line up with Livingston, TSlack, Artest, Landry and Hayes. Everyone is about the same height!
Man poor guy, he was really good with the clippers, I figure he would be a top notch point guard. You really think he can be at the same level, I hear with an injury like his the player is left traumatized hoping not to be injured again, resulting in a lower level of game play... But
If i remember correctly, he cant really shoot from the outside. Don't we all bash Rafer for missing wide open 3s?
probably means his leg is still ****ed up if he was released from a team that needs a decent PG other than Chalmers
Dun put this is garm plz.....it's already been floaded with many useless threads! this idea is crap btw.....
I say take a chance on the guy. At least 10 day contract like DD said. He may not get much playing time on the court but the coaching staff will be able to see what he can bring on the practice court.
I have to think if he was back to speed the Heat would have kept him. It's not like they are overflowing with talented players down there.
DD- You're not going to ever get people on this board to think low risk on high reward talent. Example: Marbury. Now we think if he bought out, the rox should go after him because he's better than rafer in every part of being a pg and he's younger, but there will be non basketball people that will try to conjure up the greatness, leadership, and defense of alston. Then they will talk about how marbury invented the hiv and is the 2nd coming of the anti- christ. Then u listen to garnett talk about how he would be welcome because he can still play at a high level and help the team eventhough Rondo is miles ahead of rafer. That's the difference between champs and chumps. Ainge is doing everything to add talent to win rings and morey haggles over 500k for landry and wastes most of the offseason.
I'd rather we use that open roster spot on a player that will help us win. The Rockets are screwed if they lose Alston or Brooks to an injury, so looking for a veteran PG may make sense. Or maybe they decide they don't want to take any more salary and leave it open. I imagine they're very close to the LT threshold as is.
