Don't doubt the reports... but key is "price is right." Probably 99% of deals that gets disgussed never come true. Let's see how TMac reacts.
Thanks, I honestly doubt he gets traded, his value is too low, and I honestly wouldn't see any more than expiring contracts coming back our way.
I would take Allen Iverson any day of the week on this team. Any other deal bandied around is either unrealistic or a waste of time.
His value right now is low, but teams in the east near the bottom are willing to risk some of their own players to get Tmac and hope that he will get back to his normal form.
I like Rasheed. He does complement Yao but my main compliant against him is that he doesn't go inside enough.
It really is ironic. I remember our 2nd game against dallas on TNT, they showed a clip of the interview with Tmac discussing how he'd handle Artest if he caused problems; saying things like "we're too grown for that" and "our window is closing" and "we know the opportunity we have"....but in reality, his lackluster performance, energy, and lack of leadership has been a big chunk of the issue with this team.
don't ever under-estimate mcgrady's trade value, lol. a huge contract that expires at the "right" time could be a precious commodity under certain conditions. if the words being spread are true, then, toronto, new jersey, magic, bobcats and heat are possibilities. i'll keep my hopes low, however.
sheed has not fulfilled his potential in his career, no doubt. but the guy is a huge natural talent. with yao, we don't need him go inside that often. just rebound, defend, and shoot 3's. the guy is a stud.
Wouldn't it be interesting to have Sheed and Ron Ron on the same team, after the Mallace at the Palace incident. If you think team chemistry sucks with T-Mac, lets just let two players who hate each other run our already bogged down offense, we would be screwed as bad as a hot hooker in prison.
Here is one of the early season TMac interviews done with ESPN, I could not find the TNT one you referenced: <object width="440" height="361"><param name="movie" value="http://espn.go.com/broadband/player.swf?mediaId=3682396"/><param name="wmode" value="transparent"/><param name="allowScriptAccess" value="always"/><embed src="http://espn.go.com/broadband/player.swf?mediaId=3682396" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="440" height="361" allowScriptAccess="always"></embed></object> Edit: Around the end, maybe the 11 or 12 minute mark or so Tracy starts talking about the exact stuff you referenced...
if the trade talk is serious, then this perfectly explains the entire situation..here's what I think happened: -Tmac is playing poorly, not because of lack of effort, but because of supposedly the "knee problem" -Morey figures that he's had enough, and puts a word out that Tmac is on the trade block -Tmac finds that out, so he comes back to the line up, this time messing up on purpose and not puttin any effort to screw us by driving down his trade value I just hope that somehow some way, we get to keep him, he gets his mind straight, and we win a championship.. then we can become a lotto team, I don't care, I just want a freaking ring
If the Pistons trade Sheed for McGrady, who would be their big man, they're already playing Prince at PF, and having McDyess at C wouldn't make them a better tam than they currently, especially considering they still have Rip/Prince/AI to play the SG or SF position. If anything from Detroit, it'd be Rip that'd be the best case scenario IMO. Best bets would be Toronto or Cleveland. And the best deal we'd likely get from him would likely be JO or Wally World (ugh), but that's a hopeful scenario. I'd personally think CLE would have the most interest, and would take that risk, to possibly push them over the top next to LeBron. PG- Williams SG- McGrady SF- LeBron PF- Wallace Cc- Ilguaskas I honestly don't see a package that would give us legit means of talent for McGrady.
Because if he is doing this on purpose or really is in a funk, I don't think you'd want to play him 4 times a season.
