Do you honestly think this is all about his "injury"? Are you looking past the fact that he has been sat by his coach and the GM becuase they've become concerned enough over his effort to adress him win it? Do you think all of this public calling out would be going on if there wasn't something tangible behind these concerns over his effort? Have you noticed other players with actual injuries giving a total effort when they are on the court? His knee or his mind may impact his confidence/ego, but it should have no bearing on at least going out there and doing more for your team than playing pocket pool 5 feet behind the 3 point line?

    That's really a great post.

Now it came to my mind that T-Mac stood still watching Roy running away to catch the ball and shoot the game-winning 3 while pointing his fingers at him suggesting someone else should come to guide his man.

I knew something was wrong from there.

This is nothing injury-related, it is more about " give me the ball, I will play" situation rather than "put me on the court, I will play"

How did those lines go in the movie "Broadcast News"? I don't remember exactly, but:

Some guy snaps at Holly Hunter's character, "Must be nice being right all the time."

"No," she responds in a small, anguished voice. "It's awful."

He isn't injured. Stop repeating that. He is out of shape. That's it.

Maybe you guys are right. I just know that T-mac himself said he couldn't move like he wanted to on several occasions. Whether that constitutes him being "injured", I don't know, but it does indicate that things aren't ALL right with his body.

Everything else is just hearsay for now.

I doubt Yao would ever do that.
Rafer called him out publicly and Shane would do that too.
Dunno about Artest cuz he seemed to be quite happy with Tmac on the bench during Hawks game.

I have no idea but I do know any athlete who gives any level of effort lives sore. I do know he isn't injured.

That's the problem on this forum. We have a group of guys who define injured as having an injury and another group who defines injured as experiencing discomfort. Guess which group doesn't get laid and still lives at home with mom?

Remember what he said at the post-game interview of the Raptors game? He could just say my knee hurt and therefore couldn't do much in that game. He should say he feels bad for his performance and feel sorry for his fans as a sign of respect.

Instead, he blamed his teammates not giving him enough balls to get into a groove. I would say he don't have the "balls" to speak the truth.

i think the main reason is he's at odds with rick adelman. if JVG was here, tracy would still be the player he was under JVG. but he isn't here. let's move on and rebuild. the rockets don't look like contenders now and they won't look like one for a few years. start developing the young guns and look forward to 2010.

Only as strong as your weakest link eh?

TMac has quickly gone from being my favorite player hands down to just another guy. The way he's handling himself nowadays is not just sad, it's downright disappointing and shameful. He's losing what little fans he has left with his lackadaisical attitude. I've always thought the guy would at least try to play like himself despite injuries. Instead we have to deal with watching a Wally Sczerbiak clone who can pass.

That being said, I'm sure the injury is limiting him and has got him down. That does not mean he has to look like he's 50 years old though. I'm sure that if he gave even a semblance of effort, he'd be able to score 20 points easy, much like he did at the start of the year going to the basket. Now, he just stops and passes it off, he's never frickin aggressive.

Ah, whatever. At this point, Yao has become a more exciting player to watch. That's just sad. I mean, I'd even rather watch Duncan than T-Mac.

Bottom line, the coach is the coach. T-Mac's making $20 million a year but he's still just a player.

After the Doc Rocket post I'm beginning to think that this whole sad situation is approaching its end game. Too bad the T-Mac/Yao era at the Rockets ended the way it did but that's life. Here's hoping Yao/Artest/whoever have more success.

Dude, if you're just joking you should say so. Otherwise you're asking for a demotion or the ban stick.
