I dont know if any one noticed but the guy with the best attitude and that plays the hardest and smartest is Scola. IS it me or is he the one that sparks the comebacks whenever we are down. I was at the game against the Wizards and in the fourth quarter he brought the team back and when he got a bull**** call called on him and he had to sit down we crumbled. Just the way he plays is such an energy boost to everybody including the fans. He might not be the most dominant, athletic, or talented, but he is the best leader that is on this team. I hate the fact that bc he is an international player and has long hair he gets singled out by the referees. Its discrimination in my opinion, similar to what Yao used to go though. But like i said he is the true leader of this team right now.
He isn't the vocal leader we need. But I agree. If anything his positive attitude has been diminished by the rest of the team. The "bad" is rubbing off on him. The glimmer of hope in his eyes is gone. Like a child losing his innocence.
Yeah he is not vocal but probably because he is not asked to be vocal. And i do see him at times taking ppl to the side like Landry and Brooks and giving them pointers. Scola leads by example and if the players followed his example more we would be such a better team. I think we have very good character players, Landry Brooks, Battier, all good players that are willing to serve the team how they can, and listen. Its just the bad apple here in there that devastatingly throw our balance as a team off. Its crazy to see how infectious these bad attitudes are and how bad they affect the play of our team.
I like him ,but he just is a role players in "this" ROCKETS. Although he made great achievements in the international competition. But Y and T.......
How come? Scola is a good player, but he didn't good enough to become our leader. Before Mutombo's back I would take Battier as our leader, he has the characteristic a leader need, now of course Mutombo is. Battier and Mutombo are both great leaders in lucker room. When on the court, Scola play with heart and brain, he is a smart guy, but I think Ron Artest is much good as leader.
Ill support Scola as more than a typical "role player". And you guys should know how much I love Hayes. But if you put Scola on the Spurs I guarantee you they would be picked to come out of the West. He is special and his value is being diluted by all the chaos.
I won't delve into whether he's a leader, but I can say that I'm extremely impressed with Scola this year. Maybe he isn't going to be an all-star, but he's the best PF we've had since Barkley and he's a rock. Should we ever start playing Adelman's offense, I have plenty of confidence in Scola facilitating the offense out of the high post. All kinds of appreciation for this guy.

Wow. That was the most insulting thing I've read this morning. I assume you'd still say that if Scola wasn't from Argentina? What is with the backhanded compliments? No Rocket has started more games than Scola, no legit bench player gets as many minutes as Scola, and he's a bench player? He's our second best big man, and it isn't even close. Don't talk to me about Landry and his 3 total games getting double-figure rebounds or his once every 3 games foray into double figure scoring. Scola is a rock, and our 3rd best player this season. agreed with some here, scola isnt a leader just yet but i think coach should run more plays through him. have any of u seen him perform in FIBA tournaments, this guy is a beast even last year against the US team he did well. he's only in his 2nd year and NBA is a different game altogether, watch out for this guy in the next 2-3yrs. i think he have better post up moves than Yao with really nifty footwork. his biggest problem now is defense which he shall improve with time. he and landry are definitely keepers cos they very skillful and play with a lot of passion. Luis average last year was 10.3pts/6.4reb/51.5% FG and averaged only 24min. and i believe he have yet to miss a game. the catch is, he's not your ordinary 2nd year player as he's already 29 this year and have vast experience in FIBA tournaments. but honestly, i think he needs a haircut
dont confuse "enthusiasm" with "leadership" but i like scola's playing a lot, save for the occasional defensive lapse
more like a leader by example. He inspires others with his work ethic and his attitude. but i doubt he has the credential to get into other players' face and call them out. I seriously doubt that
